Greetings from all of us in the CK3 team!

The game is finally released, and what a journey it has been! It’s truly humbling to see something that we’ve worked on for so long, and poured so much of our passion into, finally out in the wild. We’re overjoyed with the response we’ve gotten so far, it’s great that so many of you seem to enjoy the game. The amount of stories and experiences already being shared is nothing but mind-boggling, and lots of them are circulating throughout the team, putting many smiles upon our faces (especially all the memes!). We in the team wish to extend a grand ‘thank you’ to all of you for making this launch so fantastic.

In the near future we’ll be looking at collecting and addressing as many of your issues as we can. The upcoming patch (release date TBD) is a mix of improvements that didn't make it into the release (including some really fancy UI upgrades!), and bug fixes based on your feedback. Patch notes will be posted closer in time to when the patch will be released. If you have an issue, make sure to report it here so that it’s sure to be looked at!

In the next few weeks there will be no Dev Diaries, as we’ll focus our efforts on working with the feedback we’re getting from all of you. When something of interest happens, we’ll of course be back! Until then, please keep enjoying the game, sharing your stories, and shaping the world to your liking!

I hoped for a hotfix patch today with stuff like levies, ai-buildings, seduce, tribal-to-feudal etc. It's a good game and i'm sure with patches and DLC's it will become a great one, but there are issues that a single play-test or one of your influencers should have brought up, and you could at least give us an estimation for a patch.

Customers are allowed to voice concerns even in the thread you apparently unilaterally have declared to be the ""celebratory thread""
That's exactly what I'm talking about. It's basic emotional intelligence to recognize what tone a conversation has. For that, it's helpful to consider others' point of view ("hey, thank you so much guys for the incredible reception, we'll keep working on making the game even better") and not only yours ("oh my, I'm so mad at this one thing, everybody needs to hear about it all the time"). Don't be a proverbial crosfitter.

Well, since you guys are taking feedback for the UI, can we please have drop-down menus in the panel where you choose which CB you want to use before declaring war? The "change objective" button does its job, I guess, but half the time I forget to use it and end up declaring for something other than what I wanted.

Played 37 hours since release, it's really a wonderful game. There is some problems to fix but it's an impressive game for vanilla. Good job, you deserve this success!

Honestly, after the clusterfudge that was Imperator, my expectations were very low. As of right now, I have over 60 hours in CK3, which has already surpassed my time invested in Imperator, a game I pre-ordered and consistently tried to get back into with every new patch. If that's not testament to just how good vanilla CK3 is, I don't know what is. I genuinely did not expect this 180, but here we are. I'm salivating at the thought of what this game is going to be like given as much development time as CK2 had in the past. Sure, there are some flavour aspects I really miss (such as coronations and baptisms, or secret societies), but I expect these to show up in one way or another at some point in the future. Thank you for a job well done, and for restoring my faith in your future endavours.

Thanks for the great work and congrats!

Please consider releasing a faster patch for fixing glaring and presumably easy problems (e.g. levies not replenishing - to avoid annoying constant clicking on raise and disband buttons; tweaking the occurance of some events; tweaking vikings expansion areas). I am fine to wait longer for things like UI improvements or complicated balance changes.
This might actually not be possible. With how I'm reading this post they have been preparing the 'D1P' for a while already, meaning that some fixes in it could be weeks old. Depending on how things are set up and connected separating those fixes and putting them on the release branch might cause major instabilities if their associated changes aren't merged as well. That is also assuming they kept a release branch instead of continue using that branch for the D1P after going gold.

I do wish more people could strike a balance between praise and criticism. There are definitely issues to be fixed, but this is a big impressive project that people worked hard on, and things are often complex under the hood. Most issues are going to take time.

Two things I would say:
1) Even when we know you're reading the forums, it helps to pop in occasionally and tell us you've seen a specific discussion, even if you can't say much at the time. Feels less like screaming into the void.
2) It would be nice to get an immediate hotfix simply disabling the 'Fabricate Bastardy' event (events #3060-3069) until there's time to rework it properly.

Other than that, I look forward to the continued work. Took me a bit to get the hang of the game at first, definitely some rough starts, but deeply enjoying it now.

52.3 hours on record so far. I love the game guys.

My wife on the other hand is not so keen. I might need to fabricate a strong hook on her.

It's a cliche to say there are strong foundations here and the game will be great after a few DLC. But in truth, the game is already great, and could become one of the all time great games once a few things are cleaned up. You read the forums, so you already know what those are. For now I just want to say thank you.

Ditto on this. I also pre-ordered Imperator. And bought some DLC. Total play time: 4.3 hours. Over ten times that in a week on CK3. There's no comparison.

You said, that if we have issues we should post a bug report for it, but I have a question. If I have a problem with the process of modding (not with individual mods, but with the process, the act of modding in general) would that be a game problem?

For example, I have that issue, that no matter what no matter how the game will never ever accept any changes to the gui/shortcuts.shortcuts file. I have spend hours upon hours testing, figuring stuff out etc, and I have also talked with people who have the same issue.

I'd like to post an extensive in depth bug report for this. Showing, that something with the way the game handles files in the mod directories is wrong. Should I do that in the bug report forum? I mean modding tools are a part of the base game after all.
That's certainly a bug. Files in the mod folder are meant to override the base game files. If they don't, and other people can reproduce the issue, then what you have is a well-defined bug.

Excited to hear the team is already looking at UI upgrades and other tweaks. It has been fascinating playing from Scandinavia in 867 and watching chaos unfold in the British Isles as the game progresses. CK3 almost feels like a better history simulator than CK2 already. The whole world just feels so much livelier. It has been all too easy to load-up CK3 and let the hours tick away!

I'm a bit disappointed that some of us here don't know basic savoir-vivre and bring their complaints to a celebratory thread. Guys, there's whole sections on these forums dedicated to voicing your concerns. Please be courteous and keep bug reports and similar out of this thread. Regardless of whatever it is that bugs you, PI has worked extremely hard for literal years to bring us this fantastic release. Let's celebrate with them for a minute, shall we.

As was rightfully pointed out to you by @Kainser, you don't exactly have the authority to dictate what this thread is about. The dev team itself decided to bring up the topic of the patch in this very thread. Yet they haven't said anything about how discussion about it is prohibited here or that it is reserved to another thread. Consequently, contrary to your backseat moderation, Paradox itself invited commentary on the issue of the patch to this very topic.

As such, funnily enough, if anything would be against savoir-vivre here, it'd be you trying to silence that discussion. Especially since you didn't just try to silence it. You did so by trying to arbitrarily putting yourself on some pedestal of savoir-vivre. Just so you could then try to discredit the people you're trying to silence.

On top of that, that this is a fantastic release is something called "an opinion" of yours. It's not some objective fact. From the perspective of QA it can hardly be called that, as the bugs extend to even the core gameplay loop of acquiring titles, expanding your dynasty and then passing those titles to your successors (there are multiple bugs pertaining to inheritance, multiple events retroactively alter the in-game reality by making people bastards years after they were born and the AI handles matrilineal marriage much, much worse than it ever did in CKII).

And when in light of even such bugs, instead of compartmentalizing things and trying to fix some of the most glaring of those bugs as early as possible Paradox chose to jumble those much needed fixes with some new UI additions (that are, comparatively, superfluous) that will be released only at some later point in time, people have the right to express their displeasure with that decision.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. It's basic emotional intelligence to recognize what tone a conversation has.

A tip for the future. When you're trying to discredit people by pulling things about them out of the nether, at least try to keep your narrative consistent. Because in the span of just two posts you managed to change your tune from portraying the people that "disrupt" a thread you declared yourself the king of as lacking manners to outright being emotionally stunted. It's not super convincing.

Right... When you tried to outright silence people and direct them away from "your" celebratory thread you were were engaging in "considering other people's views" oh, so very much. Also, what "one thing" is @Kainser mad about, exactly?
