I've done it a few times with the Heavenly Empire, and the CSA, but otherwise... why? You lose 25 years that you can often work better than the start of 1861. With exception of the countries which do not exist in 1861 (Romania, etc), I don't see why you should play that scenerio.

Anyone?

edit- Should note, I'm not quite Bashing 1861, I just feel like I'm not "using it right".

Same reason I just started a CK2 game in 1326. It's fun to try other start points, and given most people rarely reach the end date when playing from the earliest point, it increases your odds of actually completing a game and seeing late game dynamics.

If anything, I'd like a 1881 and a 1914 scenario... but also 1815. I'm a complicated guy ;)
So ppl can quit in 1890, not 1875.
