Don't worry. I know Remble will thrill us with the next update. He just needs some time.

Raaritsgozilla, E. Jünger, oddman, Ivir Baggins - He had to hide somewhere and the Allies probably wouldn't be interested :)

serutan - A little bit of irony yes :)

KaiserMuffin, Duke_of_BOOM! - Indeed the Pope has stepped up the rankings as a major armed force :)

EnglandWarrior - Thank you :)

Maj. von Mauser - Thanks. The Allies don't really have much choice but to become defensive. It worked pretty well for Yugoslavia and Italy so far.

Sokraates - The situation in the Allied camp has switched to one of more inevitable doom I think :)

AdmiralNelson - You are probably correct. The Allies haven't been acting very Allied of late :)

Chipseal - Thank you. Not sure what I will do next :)

Nathan Madien - Glad you liked it :)

Ivan88 - It seemed appropriate as he was likely to be close to Italy anyway :)

zdlugasz - Indeed. I like to add some of these type of updates in to break things up a little :) Been very busy in RL and just got a new computer which I need to transfer everything to.

KoldPT - Different certainly :)

Nathan Madien, OneArmed - Never fear an update is here :)

Monthly update to follow ...

Update (December 1st 1949)

0000 December 1st 1949.
Imperial Palace. Tokyo, Japan.

"Your Majesty, Gentlemen, good morning." Hideki began the monthly meeting. "The last month has seen more of our enemies conquered and the completion of one of our goals for the year.

- Reduce the United States Navy to below fifteen Aircraft Carriers.

- Reduce the Allies to below twenty member States.

- Capture Europe with the exception of the United Kingdom and Ireland.

- Capture Africa.

- Capture all territory in the Mediterranean Sea and purge the sealanes of enemy shipping.

- Destroy the Comintern Alliance.

The Comintern Alliance is no more after Imperial forces annexed the Soviet Union on November 22nd."

"I have decided to celebrate the occasion." Hirohito stated. "Henceforth November 22nd will be a day of celebration for Japan and will be a national holiday."

"Very fitting your Majesty." Hideki continued. "Other than that one objective completed we continue to make progress on all of the others, but only the United States Navy Carrier force size is likely to be successfully completed this year. Over to Minister Ginjiro for an Industry update."

"Good morning your Majesty, Gentlemen. I have been forced to make some adjustments to our production in order to stabilise our Manpower reserves. Production of Transport ships and Destroyers has been cancelled leaving us with only Aircraft Carriers, Battlecruisers and Convoy ships that require Manpower." Ginjiro began.

dec1490000prod.jpg

"Our Industrial base increased by thirty six factory complexes during November but our Transport Capacity deficit grew from 1242 to 1434 as partisan activity increased due to conquest and the annexation of the Soviet Union. Our Convoy system continues to be stretched on a regular basis although we are producing more ships to counter this problem. Supply of our troops has not been adversely affected as of yet and I do not expect it to be.

All of our resource reserves are now extremely healthy and we have enough of everything, except Manpower, to sustain us for a considerable time. Manpower is stable but we still require 15, 080 men to replace our current losses.

The cancellation of some construction projects has allowed more spare capacity which has been diverted to the production of Supplies as we do not have Manpower for anything else. Our Supply stockpile will grow to a considerable size as a result. Reinforcement needs are mostly for aircraft and ships and varies on a daily basis depending on the amount of Manpower available. Upgades are for Escort Fighters which are likely to complete in January in most cases. Nothing more from me today." concluded Ginjiro.

"Intelligence please."

"Good morning your Majesty, Gentlemen." Kuniaki began. "I continue to try and place agents in every Country not within the Axis and there are ample funds for me to continue to do so."

dec1490000intfra.jpg

"The French have had a very bad month. Their base Factory output dropped from 110 to 35 following the capture of most of European France by the Central Asia Army and their research is now restricted to two projects at a time. They completed reseach into Turbojet Fighters.

Their Armed Forces lost one Armoured and seven Infantry divisions. Their ground forces are restricted to Africa as far as my reports can tell. They also lost one smaller ship in November."

dec1490000intita.jpg

"My report of Italy is not precise as I have been unable to add more than one agent in the last month. Their Industrial base dropped by seven Factory complexes due to losses in the north of the Country. The loss of factories cost them one research team and they have not completed any projects during November.

Their Army shows an increase of four Infantry divisions and they have lost two smaller ships if my numbers are accurate."

dec1490000intuk.jpg

"British Industry remains unchanged and they completed research into Supersonic Escort Fighters.

Their ground forces increased by one Armoured and three Infantry divisions.

The Royal Navy lost four smaller ships."

dec1490000intus.jpg

"No change to American Industrial output and they completed research into Modern Airborne Divisions and Modern Motorised Divisions.

Ground forces have decreased by two Armoured divisions and increased by one Infantry divisions.

No real change to the United States Airforce and the United States Navy has one more Aircraft Carrier this month and has lost one smaller ship overall."

dec1490000intjap.jpg

"My research teams completed three projects in November. Advanced Material Science, Basic Information Theory and Advanced Motorised Divisions.

I have an additional report today which deals with United States Naval production. We captured some documents in the port of Anchorage and my teams have recently finished decyphering the information and verifying its accuracy. The documents are dated early June of this year."

dec1490000uscv.jpg

"As you can see they were building a large number of Fleet Carriers, 21 to be precise, that are all due before the end of 1950. Three of these have already been sunk by Imperial forces. In addition to the Fleet Carriers they were also building 6 Light Carriers, 3 Heavy Cruisers, 4 Light Cruisers, 2 Destroyer Divisons and one Transport Division. Keeping the number of American Fleet Carriers down is going to require continued vigilance. Nothing more from me today." Kuniaki concluded.

"Can we keep the number of American Carriers under control Minister Tanigawa?" asked Hirohito.

"We should be able to your Majesty. We have been keeping their numbers down for over a year now and they are slowly running out of places to operate in safely." he replied.

"Armed Forces next please."

"Good morning your Majesty, Gentlemen." Tanigawa began his briefing. "We are still making progress in every theater with enemy activity varying in those theaters. Africa sees our continued slow pace but we are moving forwards. There have been no real gains in North America but our forces are substantially larger now and should be able to hold almost indefinately while we prosecute other areas. Europe has seen our biggest gains as usual with several more Countries annexed and a few more not far off from following the same fate. Italy and Yugoslavia remain the Allies strong point on mainland Europe but the United Kingdom appears to be turning into a fortress as no British troops have been seen outside of their home Country for some time with the exception of the Gibraltar Garrison. Over to Minister Satoru for more details."

"Good morning your Majesty, Gentlemen. Thank you Minister Tanigawa. I will begin with North America today." Satoru began.

dec1490000alaska.jpg

"Not much to report here as our forces have built up to eight divisions in Anchorage with three American divisions to the south east retreating. Enemy air cover is now present and could stop us from being able to easily control enemy numbers. No new forces are scheduled for this region for the time being with only one Battlecruiser fleet and one Transport fleet in support, as well as one Tactical bomber group, our Naval bombers and one Interceptor wing."

dec1490000africa.jpg

"We have managed to make significant gains in Africa over the last month as a large number of our advances arrived at their destinations. Targets for December are Dakar in the north west to secure an advanced airbase and port and Banana in the south to allow us to annex Belgium. The Imperial Japanese Navy will be able to support both attacks as long as no Allied fleets intervene. We are still some months away from the total conquest of Africa and the area around Brazzaville could prove to be costly to take."

dec1490000centaf.jpg

"A more detailed picture of the south shows only one advance. Our more northern forces in this region are awaiting redeployments to strengthen our postion before attacking further. A further three divisions should arrive here in December."

dec1490000ncentaf1.jpg

"The area around Banana shows our advance on Loanda and the seven divisions we will be using to attempt to overcome the defences of Banana. Naval support will be critical to such an attacks success or faillure."

dec1490000northaf.jpg

"In the north we are advancing into deserts inland and slowly building up our forces adjacent to Dakar on the coast prior to an assault. You will notice that Carrier Group D is already off the coast as it makes its way to Cueta to rebase. BB Division 1 is not far behind."

dec1490000euro.jpg

"The face of Europe has changed dramatically throughout November. Our main gains were in France but we also made good progress in Yugoslavia and conquered Greece. We have also entered Spanish territory. We annexed Luxembourg, Switzerland, Greece, Albania and the Soviet Union during November. We lost Iceland to the Spanish. Our main focus for December is advancing into Spain in the hope of catching the Gibraltar Garrison off guard. We will continue to grind down the Yugoslavs and Italians. We also captured the island of Crete in the Mediterranean Sea.

One area of potential trouble is northern Finland. The annexation of the Soviet Union has allowed the Norwegians a direct land route into Finland and we will need to keep a close watch on the border."

dec1490000france.jpg

"A more detailed look at France shows our forces moving to capture some of the last remaining French provinces. The Italians have finally awoken and are sending troops into France where we are controlling them using our bombers but it will take some time to reduce their numbers enough for us to advance into northern Italy. There are some Spanish forces defending their Country but we do have bomber support for our forces using north African air bases. Capturing Spain and mainland Portugal are our main objectives as we advance towards Gibraltar in the hope of cutting off the Mediterranean Sea from Allied shipping."

dec1490000yugo.jpg

"The eastern part of Europe shows us advancing through Yugoslavia as we weaken the enemy in the area. The Winter conditions are slowing our progress but we should make significant strides forwards in the next couple of months. We do not have enough troops to advance into Italy but this will come as our troops marching through Yugoslavia will eventually be able to support operations in northern Italy. Over to Minister Osami for a Naval briefing." concluded Satoru.

"Your Majesty, Gentlemen, good morning." Osami began. "we have had a successful month at sea with some notable highlights."

dec1490000sunk.jpg

"We sank three Allied capital ships including two American Aircraft Carriers and one Canadian Battleship. We sank a large part of the Spanish Navy in the port of Crete and have had considerable success at sinking a large number of small escort vessels of multiple Nations in the Mediterranean Sea and off the coast of southern Spain.

BB Division 1 and Carrier Group D are close to Cueta where they will resupply and head south to support a ground attack against Dakar. After that one fleet will head towards Banana to support operations off the western coast of southern Africa while the other fleet will remain close to Dakar to support operations in that theater.

Repairs continue to several capital ships which are still many months from completion in some cases. There remains the possibility of increased Naval action as our forces operate outside air cover around western Africa. Nothing further." Osami concluded.

"Thank you Gentlemen. We have had a very good year so far and I would like to see further progress during December to place us in a solid position to further our aims during 1950. Minister Tanigawa, please bring yourself and your Chiefs of Staff with you and follow me." stated the Emperor as he stood and left the meeting.

Nice update!

I predict you will take the first Italian mainland province on Dec 20th, Gibraltar will be reinforced (but your airpower will crush the transports), and that Dakar won't be as costly as you thought as the allies will run out of supplies.

France...not even worth mentioning on the map.

Remble, after you close off the Mediterranean Sea, are you going to capture more islands in that area like you did with Crete?

Thanks, Remble! On any other day this would be the part of the day that I enjoyed the most :) . I hope RL will not afflict you too much, but if it does, don't worry about us--we can chill, read reruns and wait for more of the conquest.

A good Monthly Update. :)

It seems like you are closer to eliminating some longtime foes from the map, aswell as shutting down the Med! I look forward to seeing more action, and am anxious to see the discussion between HIH and the CoS revealed.:)

Yes, good work Remble

Are you planning to annex Britain last, again, Remble? I imagine the Fortress Britain problem is only going to get worse, unfortunately.

I would blame AoD. But thats not remble`s case.

Remble: do you try to alert US AI by your presence in alaska to force them to build land units so they will be able to give you fun at least?
