Chapter 3 - Estonian Adventures

The reign of Karl IX has just begun and once again Sweden can march onwards and claim new lands for the realm.

Nobles - Hurrah!

During the late summer of 1436 the Swedish-Polotsk Assult resulted in a fast invasion of the northern lands of Teutonic Order.

Karl IX - Not a single one of the knight survived against our glourius army.

Nobles - Hurrah!

Polotskian King - After such a great battle the knights will pay me a nice fee for a peace.

Karl IX - Coward! We Swedes won't surrender for money, we will fight until we have secured Estonia!

Nobles - Karl is the greatest king ever!

And when the snow had fallen all across Russia and Scandinavia, the Swedish army could rest in the newly counquered provinces Samogitia and Kurland.

Teuton Leader - We can accept the peace you proposes.

Karl IX - Great! Estland, Livonia and Wenden conquered from the dirty German Knights!

Teuton Leader - You might remember that I'm still here?

Karl IX - Get out of my way, peasant!

Nobles - Long live King Karl!


 
I always like ARRs of the far northlands. So far...you're doing great in such a very short time. Keep it up...
 
Chapter 4 - All roads leads to Oslo?

Karl IX - With all this great sucess I need to find myself a princess.

Advisor - If I may give a suggestion.

Karl IX - Who are you? Where did you come from?

Advisor - I'm Mads and I hail from Scania, you recently hired me as your advisor.

Karl IX - Excellent! So where can I find a pretty princess?

Mads the Advisor - Norway got a sucession struggle, the old king Olav only has a daughter. She is unmarried, fitting our masterplan quite perfect.

Mads the Advisor - Yes, my lord!

Karl IX - You never told me about the masterplan, you danish devil!

Mads the Advisor - Its simple, you can now claim the right to Olavs throne.

Swedish Herald - I come with a message from the King of Sweden and Prince of Estonia, King Karl IX.

Olav af Norge - Then speak up, Herald!

Swedish Herald - I'm not sure you want the real message.

Olav af Norge - Shut up! Just deliver what that boy said.

Swedish Herald - Olav af former Norge, I hereby claim your shitty throne because I can. Good luck and Have Fun, Karl..........

Olav af Norge - .........................

Mads the Advisor - Now we shall only make it part of your realm sir!

Karl IX - My Son will be King over a united Norway and Sweden, so wonderful!

Peace Treaty of Oslo 1448

  • Sweden and Noway will form a union. Karl IX of Sweden will become King over both nations.
  • Norway will surrender their claims on Bohuslän and Jämtland.

That was a fantastic post. Quite witty, and excellent work with Norway and the Teutons. :)
 
Chapter 5 - Land Connection


Karl IX - Mads!

Mads the Advisor - Yes, my lord.

Karl IX - I am bored.

Mads the Advisor - Well Novgorod is blocking us from trading in their capital.

Karl IX - They will let us trade when, I'm done with them.

Swedish Herald - I come from a far away land and brings the most important message from my king.

Novgorodian Prince - Speak Herald!

Swedish Herald - Hello Prince! I hope you enjoyed your ports along the Baltic Sea, as of today I will take those in return for your no-trade policy. Karl..............

Novgorodian Prince - So Sweden wants me to open the trade?

Swedish Herald - I think it's to late for that...

Mads the Advisor - Sir, maybe we should take the ports and end this war?

Karl IX - I guess so. The greedy bastard wont give me Kexholm anyway.

Mads the Advisor - I wonder who the greedy is....

Karl IX - The Novgorodian Trade Prince! Stupid Dane....

Mads the Advisor - So you are King of both Sweden and Norway?

Karl X - Apparently!

Karl X - This is a vast realm I've inherted. My lands stretches from the icy island Iceland to the forest of Karelia.

Mads the Advisor - Impressive Karl!

As you can see Europe is somewhat not as we are used to see it around 1480. Hansa controls Denmark and Kurland. England is replaced by Cornwall. Golden Horde is still going strong in the East. My main wish is that the Hansa and Austria will battle it out and probably leave both countries split in nice pieces for me to take a bit of.
 
Your world is a much different world than I'm use to. Very good!
I'm not sure...but Cornwall could become the new Great Britain.
 
Lovely stuff. Great that you inherited Norway. Instant cores!
