I started as Austria day one alliances with France and Russia and then after Prussia declared war on Denmark I started an admit hegemony war called in France and Russia, won that and kept Denmark intact. Eventually Russia fell from GP (probably because I kept using them as cannon fodder in all my wars). Sweden took their spot sphered denmark then formed Scandanavia. I eventually knocked Prussia down from GP took my the cores from Denmark and France ejected most of my former Austrian Empire and then formed Germany. Can't explain the score differentials though. Probably all the war mongering.

I don't want to touch the game for a while since the lagging is horrible; it takes 30 seconds to a minute for 1 day to pass, and the game freezes every day...

I think that rule is just to prevent German minors from prestige spamming and becoming GPs(something I'm pretty sure you also complained about).
