So colonial nations will form even if you don't have the DLC? Wow, thank you!

Honestly, I really hope this won't happen and the colonization would be unaffected unless the DLC is checked. I'd appreciate if there is a clearer explanation regarding the scope of the DLC and the patch.

- Will colonial nations form without DLC, or does the "protectorate" apply only to the non-colonial, vassalized low-tech nations? And what is "too low"? Does it have something to do with the amount of tech or is it predefined as a whole tech group?
- What will happen to the tariffs for non-American overseas provinces? If Spain owns Spice Islands, does Spain get full tax? That'd be way OP for Europeans...
- "If a protectorate westernizes"... does it mean the AIs will finally be able to pull off Westernization now?
- Will there be any way to reduce liberty desire, or is it meant to be another late-game "screw you, you've been playing the game too long" sort of a deal where you're bound to lose all of them in the end?
- What happens to the current colonial revolt states? Do they tag-switch to La Plata, Brazil, UPCA etc upon independence?
- What will happen if a colonial state becomes independent, and the colonial power forcibly annexes it through war? Will the colonial nation automatically form again?
- Now that "Swahili" is changed to Kilwa and (iirc) Mombasa and Mogadishu will be new states, is "Swahili" formable? Or is it completely gone?

Support Independence. In Conquest of Paradise there is now a new diplomatic action that allows an independant nation to support the independance of a subject nation. Should the subject nation declare war on its overlord, the supporters will automatically get called.
Do AI take advantage of this?
e.g. If I were to support the independence of a French vassal, will it consider declaring independence?

So the DLC only allows you to play as some new countries and Randomized Maps and the rest is in the Free Patch?

Also How does CoP effect American Dreams DLC? Can you still start a game in 1776 as USA without CoP? (but with American Dreams DLC)
I assume you will still be able to play already independent nations that have been a colonial nation

This have been explained in another thread: You can only vassalize countries with a tech group of less than +50% tech penalty difference. So a western country will vassalize eastern(+20% tech penalty), ottoman(+25% tech penalty iirc) and muslim(+40% tech penalty) but will make a protectorate to other tech groups like india(+50% tech penalty)

as it is said making higher tariffs increases liberty desire I assume lowering tariffs would make liberty desire go down

I believe they will get decisions to do that

yes it is said to happen after 1 day

Will the random continents change the global climate, trade winds, and the continental shelves? Why are the rivers being nonsensical in the video? Will glaciation be shown in the random continents?

# Cores
- The cores of annexed nations now take twice as long to disappear
- Reduced core decay time for same culture group to 100 years from 150
- Colonial conquest outside of region for a colony to core is 75% cost and 25% inside their colonial region.
- Fixed an issue with cores not disappearing on the correct dates.

Any more info about this? How did you fix it?

Of course not... EU4 is not a climate simulator.

- Fixed a bug where AI units would keep moving to attack a province and then abort because they wrongly calculated on support from nearby friendly units
- Fixed an issue in army AI that was causing AI to 'dance' between targets
- Fixed a bug where you could lock up AI armies by repeatedly moving into and then cancelling movement into their province.

Hmm any clarification on those? Will the AI be more persistent with their pathing and attacking?
