So England and the Soviet Union can be allied after 1941, without being in the same faction, fun :)

Who in their right mind would join in on the Japanese limited war against the USA as Germany though?

This is the right way to set that up.

Japan declares limited war on U.S. while Germany is mopping up Russian units up to the Urals. After triggering bitter peace, taking Persia, India, Indonesia, Australia and the South Pacific, then its time to join in with Japan and kick the U.S. out of their Pacific islands. I always like to do a landing in San Diego from Hawaii after securing everything west from there. Complements an invasion from Newfoundland.

Makes perfect sense to me! :D

In this screenshot you can see clearly on the German soldier in the background the Waffen SS runes. These are, much like the swastika, illegal to display in Germany, without the proper historical context.

The context doesn't get much more historical than this, does it?

It seems in the pic that Italy is more axis-y than germany. (More in the lower right corner)

Does that affect anything?

Also, can alliance leaders change? Britain obviously starts out in charge, but towards the end the US becomes the more dominant country in the "faction" as I understand their called now.

Oh yeah, looks awesome right now. Can't wait til it comes out.

The screen has probably been updated in some way since the diary was posted but I must say the plain black shadow for the Axis corner is a bit bland, perhaps a German feldgrau color would suit it? Seeing as Germany really is the leader of the Axis and not Italy, I think a Balkankreuz (the crosses painted on German tanks to identify them) would be more appropriate than the fasces. The fasces is an ancient symbol used by different countries for different purposes and doesn't really fit the main Axis nation most people will play: Germany. It's sort of like using Big Ben for the symbol of the Allies instead of the statue of liberty.

Well,Big Ben doesnt really represent anything related to politics...
And a question on the alliances:Will the defensive-only alliances be in (which means that the allied countries will join you if you are attacked, but wont if you attack someone).

It represents the UK #2 on the Allied list and the fasces represents Italy #2 on the Axis list, this is my point. The Allies and Comintern both have appropriate symbols for their leader countries. Yes the fasces represents fascism, but fascism is not national socialism.

Germany, leader of the Axis, is national socialist and not fascist. They do not use the fasces symbol, therefor I find it out of place among the other factions to use the fasces. It doesn't feel right playing Germany, again the primary Axis nation, seeing fasces to represent my faction. Especially when Italy is getting its butt handed to it in Africa. I would much rather see the balkankreuz or at least an iron cross, but the balkankreuz would work well.

For the simple fact there is nothing legal to use in place of the fasces for national ideology, keep the fasces ideology icon for that purpose. But please if there is a symbol on the triangle for the Axis don't make it a fasces! Balkankreuz! :eek:o
