More importantly, why was USA's only logistics wizard with general rank removed? Sommervell is normally one of 3 available generals in 36 and though only skill lvl1 was the important logistics wizard trait.

He was not removed.

His active dates were changed to

1940 for Mj. General
1942 for Lt. General
1945 for General

Which is more inline with his historical promotion path.
 
I mostly agree with the USA general changes. However Patton should be general in 44. He was actually promoted, according to the Wiki, twice in the same year--to corps commander and army commander in 43. However he was sidelined in 43 following the slapping incident. But he should be around in 44 for the liberation of Western Europe as full general, not 45.

On another note--Has the USA ever gotten involved directly in WW2 before 1941? I'm especially interested in if this happens if France starts the war early in 38, or they go to war over Czechoslovakia. If so some adjustment may be needed even if not quite historical.

On another note, does wakeleader work for anybody or does the general to be awoken have to be alive but in the dormant pool?

Still think the CTD for non-English games is the most important issue right now and the fix for that should not await a final release.

Just a quick question:

Has anything been changed about subs attacking convoys ?

From what I have seen in the first 6 month of the war my subs sink less convoys than I used to see (I am using about 60 sub IVs and 12sub IIIs in stacks of 6 with about 10 active hunting groups while the rest is in ports for repairs).

The AI seems to be using larger fleets to hunt my subs than what I have seen before, too.

I see him now. Why was log_wiz removed? Was it another purposeful penalty to remove the USA's only log wiz general?

His country should exist and he should be dormant (i.e. in dormant leaders list).

The AI seems to be using larger fleets to hunt my subs than what I have seen before, too.

DDs Sub attack was restored to their 1.2 values which also makes convoy escorts better. This could explain (partially) the reduction of convoy loses.

AI utilizes better its IC and could produce more units. This could be (one of) the reason(s) for the bigger ASW fleets you see.
 
I'm playing my first commie China game. I have played most of the game with 1.3b 1 and a little bit with 1.3b 2. It's 47 and I have annexed and released Japan as a puppet. Before I released Japan Thailand was my puppet, but after I released Japan they got Thailand as their puppet. This seem weird to me. I don't know if this is intentional or not, if it has anything to do with the patch or not, but it seem like something to fix?

He never had it in any file I modded from. If you have a PI-written file where he does have it, please post his stats line here. If nothing else, I'd like to add the trait (back?) into the CA mod, and it's likely the Patch team would want to do the same.

Ah, thx, so I did not imagine this ;) The convoy escort changes look good to me since it means the war for the Atlantic (for me this means sinking the UK's merchant marine) will not be decided in '41, but will last to '42/'43 now (if it can be won for Germany at all).

The cause is probably this event. (Part of the "Japan puts Pressure on Siam" chain).

I had a very strange bug, was playing as germany I was in 44 and decided to save the game and go to work leaving the computer locked. when I returned I did some messing around with freedom cheat to see what would happen before reloading the game where I had left it. It came up with an error and the autosave from before also had become corrupted. I am unsure what could have caused this and I cannot remember the exact error it gave, so I guess this post isnt too helpful.

Should there not be an event that changes the Soviet Union to Russia?

I guess the bitter peace event is a sort of compromise, with the assumption that the Axis is the clear victor but cannot be bothered (and probably just couldn't anyway, for logistical reasons) to try and conquer the entire USSR.

But, what of a similar event where the USSR is totally smashed and the Germans enforce a pro-Western puppet under the RUS tag?

I don't think it's too unlikely, and personally I just make SOV become RUS with the current bitter peace events; I just find it odd that Hitler would accept complete defeat over the Soviets yet leave their government - and thus Bolshevism - intact.
 
Another question; your original post in this thread says you welcome database changes. Does that mean you're willing to update naval OOBs if I post them here?

What it means is that they are willing to look at changes to the DB and make changes as needed, provided there is a consensus (and/or documentation) that they are, in fact, in error.

For example: Many people are not happy with the Italian BBs being classified as Great War Battleships (even though they WERE until they finished their refits (2 in Mid-1936, 2 in mid-1940)), but can't agree on what they should be (my opinion after looking at their stats is that they should be BattleCruisers, either BC-III or BC-IV)

Doomsday 1.3a has him as a Logistics Wizard, not sure when the trait was removed.

I tend to disagree with such reasoning, even if from a practical point of view I can understand it.

I like historical OOBs, and thus the Cavour and Andrea Doria-class battleships should be BB I and II respectively, or perhaps both II if you want to take refitting into account.
