Angry attack problems, help!

OK, here is my problem, and it may be a simple one, but i did just get the game.

i am russia, currently fighting Germany. Whenever i enter a battle my forces always lose. even though i may outnumber german forces 2:1. What happens is, during the battle, the bar under the number of forces that you have in combat, is lit up with green. but, i have half as much green as the germans do, so when my green bar reaches 0, my forces always retreat. i'm thinking this is an organization problem, but i'm not sure. could someone please tellme what the green bar means, and how can i improve it, because no matter what i do i get my butt kicked.

i appreciate any help!

IIRC the green bar is your org and when your average org is under 10 (when you attack) or under 5 (when you defend), then your troops will retreat.
You raise your max org by researching doctrines and your troops only regain org when they are standing still

There are a lot of factors that affect combat performance; org is one but there are many others. Some other things include the technology levels of your troops (things like your hard and soft attack values), the leaders you are are using, attacking from multiple directions at the same time, and what kinds of units you are using (for example, if you have a bunch of infantry attacking a bunch of armor, even at a 2:1 ratio you are probably going to lose). Also, the terrain type makes a big difference, and even the weather.

I'm not an expert but I can offer some tips:

Try to research tech advances that improve your combat performance (infantry and armor advances, obviously, but also a lot of the artillery techs give attack bonuses; doctrines generally give your units better org)

Try to use good leaders

Try to always attack from multiple directions

Try not to attack across rivers if you can help it

Try to use some tac bombers to support your attack

Try to lure your opponents onto flat terrain and attack them there, rather than in forests or mountains

Don't take your armor into swamps

Try not to attack in heavy rain, cold, or snow

I had the same problem when I started playing but it is worse than yours. I lost 10:1 battle since I attacked with mostly militias, they are in mountain, I attacked across river, no leader (while they have one), they have air support and they have lead in tech.

While playing Russia, it seems removing German's allies in Balkan and annexing them is much easier than removing the German in Poland. Just kill all of its allies (Hungray, Romania, Bulgaria, etc) since they are very week. Then after that, you can either encircle German troops in Poland or go straight to Berlin .
