Talking And the clouds parted revealing a bright beautiful sun. . .

You may have noticed the thread from Bluestew advertising his 8mbit connection and his offer to host. Needless to say our group had had its share of problems with MP play, in fact read my post "my pain" and you will understand.

We grabbed Bluestew and added, yes added, him to our game. Keep in mind any past attempt to play with more then 6 players was unsuccesful to say the least. He was added to the group to make a total of seven players, he hosted and. . .Viola!

It was a completely new gaming experience! After last night I am convinced that Paradox's efforts at reducing the network demand by 33% will make all the difference. We didn't have to pause a single time for a resynch.

Yes rub your eyes and reread that last sentence, it is true!

I have truly just begun my MP experience and my future is bright!

Jup, bandwith usage is what lags pretty often.
You got to love a 1+ MBit host (up+down)

HOI MP is the way to go - no more complains about AI being to weak n stuff

Confirmation

I play in Tanks group.

Having expirenced it myself it confirmed to me that bandwith is definately the issue not your modem. I have a 56k modem, so does another guy not a blip of lag.

So folks for me this proved it the bandwith usage is the key and if you have a 56k modem you should have no probs playing any online game. The host was in OH, I am in boston with another guy, one in MD, one in VA, one in MO, one in NY. Granted not very spread out but enough.

Once patch 1.04 comes out with the 33% reduction in bandwith usage I am convinced that will really help the MP expirence.

So if you have a 56k modem hang in there, soon you will be able to take your name of the black list !

Where? What is this 'sun'?

Haven't seen anything like it in Virginia for about nine months.
