Low internal memory might explain some strange phenomena
I have seen people in these forums complain about the fact that they sometimes can´t change leader because "the sliders just jump up and down all the time" Well...for the first time ever this happened to me today. There are two reasonable explanations for this.
1. It was the first time I played as England (I have played with many other nations before but never England). 2. (and this is a more plausible explanation) I just this morning, before I started my England campaign, sold one of my RAM-memories...so I went from 256 to a total of 128, and all of the sudden all hell broke lose. The game seems so more unstable now, I have never had a ctd...but now it seems I´m just getting closer to it for every minute I am playing. And ANOTHER thing...I noticed that from januari 1937 to april 1937 my save game file growed from 5 mb to 7. Maybe this internal memory thing will cause that save game file cancer bug for me as well. I will play some more and get back to you on that. Now...I reckon nothing I had said so far is anything new to you guys...but you never know. PS...thank God another 512 pc1 133 is on its way...! I need HOI to get past this gruesome winter!

I had the leader problem once on a machine with 512mb after a clean boot up, I doubt memory is the issue.
1) The savegame growth is unconnected, it's a seperate bug. 2) What version of windows do you have and what's your virtual memory size? With 256mb I can almost guarantee that you are using virtual memory when playing HOI. Taking out physical memory should do nothing other than to slow the game down as you increase reliance on virtual memory. 3) You might have a problem if you are not letting windows handle memory management, for example, if you specify the virtual memory size, then drop out some physical and overrun your virtual space. |

Savegame cancer bug is certainly not related to RAM. I have RAM coming out the wazoo, but my savefiles grow faster than a horse can run!!
