Ok JUST got the game yesterday. Now after I do the tutorial, and read the manual and FAQ i printed out, i have some basic questions:

1)If i choose to play the grand campaign and want to play say...Ethiopia...do i have to edit the Grand Campaign files as listed in the editing FAQ or can i choose them from a drop down menu already. I guess what im asking is how many countries are playable in the GC without editing the files.

2)Anyone having the game hang up on exit on windows millenium and directx8?

1) Download Grand Campaign v.8 or something, there you can chose all the contries you see fit to play.

2) Dunno.

Just to be picky ....

The downloadable scenerio is called Improved Grand Campaign. It's v1.8

You can find it in the scenerio section on this web-site..just over half way down the page on the right.

1) Yes you would - in the basic Grand Campaign there are 8 fixed starting countries. Editing lets you substitute a different country into one of these slots.

2) I've got the same system, and EU does hang for a while when I exit - but after a time everything clears and goes back to normal, so it's not a system crash.

be advised though that sometime you may experice 'quick exit' phenomena. Basically, for no apparent reason, the game will kick you out to your desktop (it happened to me 3 times in 3 IGCs, so not a lot, but still.) Good practice is to save often.

Cheers

Cool

2) Windows ME does seem to take an extra 15 seconds to exit the game compared to W95. Just let it sit and it will exit back to where it should be. Unfortunately, that's still windows.

1) Like they said. Try the IGC but I'm not sure WMe likes their file for changing countries.

And have fun!
