going back to EU2

When I first got HOI I played it for almost 30hrs strait, I LOVED IT! Up until a few days ago I played it all the time. Unill Europa 1400 the guild came along, after playing that for the last few days I can honesly say it might be my favorite game ever (replacing Conquest of the new world). Tonight I decided to fire up a game of EU2 and play for awhile. Damn, it feels really weird playing EU after playing so much HOI. I don't think it would be the same problmem if it was any other game I replaced EU with. I think it just 'cause they feel ALMOST the same. Enough that I keep trying to do HOI still while playing.

1. Did/Do any of you find it hard to play EU again after playing HOI?

2. Play Europa 1400 the Guild. Best50$ I ever spend on a video game. On the message board I keep reading all this stuff about constant crashes to desk top. I have a system with a pretty rare system config and I played for 8hrs strait today, not one prob.

(if you are wondering how I can play so many video games, I got my finger cut off at work. I don't need to go back for quite awhile, and I get paid. With all these greats games I am almost greatful for loosing the finger, it was a pinky, who uses those anyway...

Cant relate to your question but thats one hell of a good way to look at loosing a finger dude.

Hats off, you made me realize I shouldnt bitch to much when the fucking lean pockets are still frozen in the middle.

Cripes! At least you don't have to use the ol' sick excuse to play games anymore.

Going back to EU2 was interesting... it was like going back to an old friend who's always there waiting. I didn't have too much trouble transferring back over again, though it did take a little getting used to again.

Nope, it wasn't really cut off as much as it was... mushed.
I am not normaly a manual labour kinda guy (5, 7" 130 queer). I was helping a friend carry some boxs into his store, and I dropped one, (small shoe sized box) over the curb. When I bent over to pick it up a truck ran over my hand, 9 bones broken, and my pinky looked like custard. So it couldn't really be reattacted. Just spread on my hand, and what good would that do me?

That sounds terrible. But I guess you were lucky it was the pinky rather than the thumb or index finger...

I played the pixels off EU2 and reinstalled it on my new Alienware when I got it. The newness is just now starting to wear off HoI (though that will change with the release of the next patch) so I haven't done much more than tinker with EU2 since.

I don't like to compare them, though. EU2 is a pretty finished product. HoI is about 85% finished. If the bugs on the bug list can be fixed and the AI given a little more "I" when it comes to naval warfare, I think it will stay on my HD for a long, long time.

Studies show that in 98.497726 % of games, the AI should really be called AI. Except the I should mean "irrationality" instead of "intelligence".

I played the pixels off EU2 1.05. Then my monitor shorted out from displaying a constant high megahertz grey/white from having no pixels for the next 4038.78 hours I continued to attempt to play de-pixellized EU2. Then I discovered the centralization slider bug, became violently ill, and shelved it.

Temporarily of course.

Going back to Eu2 did take some getting used to, I don't know how many times I hit the Financial Summary button hoping to get the diplomatic screen. But its now been a week or so since i've played HoI and replaced it, as I do with seemingly everything, with Eu2. I love HoI, and can't wait to play it again, but it has issues that need to be adressed, and I just can't see myself spending the time playing something now, that'll be much more worth my time playing later, and be a more enjoyable experience. So now the King of Oman looks outward from his citadel in Mascate, wondering just how many infidels are out there to turn to the true faith!
