Edited: Release date in Norway 29.11. (probably)

Oslo, 25th of November, 2002. About four PM

Old Norg leaves the office. He's the last one today as well. Purposefully, he strides towards the exit in the office complex near the main railway station of Oslo.

After dodging suicidal Christmas shoppers, he arrives at his destination; the purveyors of fine software, Ram & Rom. Looking at the shelves, he cannot find what he seeks.

A bored, spotty teenager stands behind the counter.
"Excuse, but do you have a game called Hearts of Iron, perchance?"
"Uhm... don't think so. But I'll check..."

Norgesvenn is quivering with excitement. He hadn't been this excited since 7th grade, when he first got to touch a female breast.

"Sorry, it's not due until December 6th", the clerk informs him.

The world falls apart.

But Norg's not a quitter. He goes to the next software boutique he can find and repeats the procedure from the first one.

"Never heard about it"

Three time's a charm, Norg says to himself repeatedly as he makes his way through a police barricade. Some plonker's called in a bomb scare in the biggest shopping mall in central Oslo. Bombs are no issue for Norg.

Another software/video store lies before him.
He walks down the stairs, and approaches the counter.
"Uhm, do you have a game called Hearts of Iron?"
"Pardon...? Will of Iron?"
"'Hearts'... like the Edinburgh footie side..."
"Let me check... Oi! Do we have something Iron something... Hearts?"
"Due the 1st of February"
"You heard the man!"

Norg bows his head, wipes a tear and goes to catch a tram. A tram that never comes, due to the bomb scare.

After arriving home an hour late, he finds the phone number of one software company.

"It's to be released the 29th, sir!", a pleasant female voice tells him. Norg resists the temptation of asking this splendid woman to marry him.

----

So, to sum it up: What on Earth is the correct release date for Norway???

December 6th?
February 1st?
November 29th?

*has headache*

When I called Akers Mic earlier today they said tomorrow (26th).

I called the one in Kongens Gate, the one in Akersgata always tell you the expected UK release date. They check it on a public website....

They said the same at Avalon... even though I tried to tell them differently.

I've ordered from www.gamesmix.com. The one at "kundeservice" said "29th, my dear man!".

Care to just pop in and say "whooohooo" if you get it?

Or "D'oh!" if you don't...

Right.

I think we can deduce that 29th is the correct release date for Norway. This means the weekend will be busy, at least.

So: The 29th of November is most probably the correct release date in Norway.

Forget December 6th, and strike February 1st off your lists, Norwegian gamers.

Just got back from Akers Mic, and I guess you talked to the same guy I just met behind the counter. He startet out claiming he wouldn't have the game before February. But after a short argument he quickly understod that the only way to get rid of me was to call Pan Vision. They confirmed that the had the game in stock, and that the release date was Friday 29th. The game would be shipped to retaliers on the 27th.

Since the release date was supposed to be the 29th for the whole of Scandinavia and the fact that the game is on sale in Sweden, I would guess that the game could be in stores in Oslo any day from today until the middle of next week. Considering the amount of retailers in Scandinavia and the limitations of the postal service, sending all of the games to the different retailers at the same time would be nearly impossible. I hope we get it sooner rather than later though...

I talked to Pan vision about it and they told me that tradition had got an early load of games, before the delay and there for could release the game earlier. It will be in the shop on the 29th of november.

Edited the thread title to avoid misunderstandings and to try and be of a little help.

Edit: Seems as if my edit didn't help much.

I think it will hit the stores very soon now, prolly before saturday. Same thing was with EU2. Nobody knew when it was coming, not even the people working in Ram&Rom, but bang, there it was, just a couple of days later.
