Which country has the most cultures?
original idea of: Josquius
i know Ottoman Empire gets 4 cultures (in Mad King james campaign it gets even more). ok, here is a condition, they must have three or more. (or do you want "more" only? ) so the list is: -Ottoman Empire 4 -Austria 4 (5 with the Dutch Rebellion) -Navarra 4 (3, +1 if you transform into France and have the Dutch Revolt) -The Knights 4 (starts with 2, +2 from events) -Venice 3 -Bohemia 3 -Timurids 3 -Byzantium 3 -England 3 (starts with 2, +1 from an event) -China 3 (starts with 2, +1 from an event) -Sweden 3 (starts with 2, +1 from an event) -Novgorod 3 (starts with 2, +1 if you transform into Russia, only Russia get the "The Russian Orthodox Church declared independent of Constantinople") -Brittany 3 (2, +1 if you transform into France and have the Dutch Revolt) anymore? ---------------------------------------- Summary by Quizzical: The complete list of countries that start with multiple cultures at the start of the grand campaign: Four: Austria (Czech, German, Magyar, Slovak) Ottoman Empire (Arabic, Greek, Slavonic, Turkish) Three: Bohemia (Czech, German, Slovak) Byzantium (Greek, Italian, Slavonic) Granada (Arabic, Berber, Iberian) Navarra (Basque, French, Iberian) Venice (Greek, Italian, Slavonic) Two: Ak Kayanlu (Kurdish, Turkish) Algiers (Arabic, Berber) Aragon (Iberian, Italian) Brittany (French, Gaelic) Burgandy (Dutch, French) China (Cantonese, Han) Duchy of Athens (French, Greek) [French?!] England (Anglosaxon, French) Hungary (Magyar, Slovak) Lorraine (French, German) Manchu (Han, Manchu) Novgorod (Russian, Ugric) Pommern (German, Polish) Savoy (French, Italian) Sibir (Altai, Mongol) Sweden (Scandinavian, Ugric) The Knights (French, Italian) Timurid Empire (Afghani, Mongol) Some cultures are, of course, more useful than others. The most common cultures are: Altai (75, mostly uncolonized) Arabic (36) German (34) Mongol (28) French (27) The rarest cultures are: Albanian (1) Armenian (1) Canary (1) Maltese (1) Syrian (1) Aka (2) Georgian (2) Hawaiian (2) Korean (2) Kurdish (2) Sikh (2) Swiss (2) Slovak (2) ---------------------------------------- Originally posted by DarthMaur: Manpower of biggest euro cultures: -German 150 -French 139 -Russian 121 -Italian 92 -Iberian 89 This doesn't include provincial culture changes (Bearn, Sudeten, Granada, Gibraltar) -Anglosaxon (wales included) 50 -Gaelic 43 -Scandinavian 45 -Ruthenian 40 -Polish 29 -Lithuanian 29 -Slavonic 27 -Dutch 30 -Magyar 16 -Czech 12 -Romanian is 12 All this doesn't take population modifiers into account. Thus, Scandinavia manpower, as Ireland, is smaller in game a bit, unless someone brings those cities population up by colonizing. Last edited by Generalisimo; 03-10-2002 at 20:01. |

Canary? Is that the Canary Islands? If it is, it has to get the prize for the absolute rarest, since it starts the GC as a Castillian colony.

As someone born in the Canaries i wonder what the canary culture is. In fact i was quite surprised when i saw it. We have many cultural diferences with other Spanish, but for sure not more than Portuguese or South American people, who are given iberian culture. Is perhaps all of this related to a love affair with canarian girls of some of the paradox guys?
![]() And about the thread, when England get the Dutch culture?
