A new Rome
INTRODUCTION ![]() Hello. This is a mod about how the Roman Empire was restored to it's power in 1399. Made it primarily because I was bored. It features: - Rome! - Roman Religion - Roman Culture - 4 starting points with varying difficulty - Roman legionnaires - Insanely overpowered generals, advisers and the province of Rome - Originally named armies - Originally named dynasties and Emperors + originally named ancient Roman families - stuff... Flaws to be fixed: - Didn't finish culture conversion speed boost (didn't have enough time) - Didn't do fleet and ship names (see above) - No decisions or religious decisions (got some ideas, gonna work on it soon-ish) - Didn't do insane early-game bonuses for Rome then insane penalties later yet Changelog for 0.2: - Added 3 forms of state - the Roman Republic, the Roman Principate and the Roman Dominate - Cavalry Auxilia as default cavalry - Adviser last names (cca 30 of them) - Revised religion bonuses - Fixed the religion icon thing - Messed around with advisers - Added three missions for the first start scenario Note: Disband your fleet (huuuge), it costs a lot The Backstory Caesar watched from heavens at the decaying Byzantine "Empire" and said angrily "If I was still alive, NONE of this would've happened." "You got that right." nodded Octavius in agreement "Jesus Christ!" said Caesar, surprised "Yeah?" a beardy figure appeared out of a cloud "JESUS CHRIST!" said Caesar, stunned and terrified "YEAH?" the beardy figure mocked him "Say, would you take me there so that I can show them how REAL Romans do Empire Building?" "Yeah, sure." "Mind if I tag along?" asked Octavius "Not without me!" shouted Aetius Flavius from a distance "And me!" said Cicero "Let me be your musical escort!" said Nero in a gay kind of way "NO!" everyone yelled at the same time Nero left. Jesus brought forth from the Basilica of St. Peter Gaius Julius Caesar, Dictator, his nephew Augustus, Flavius Aetius, Cicero, Scipio Africanus, Vergilius and a whole boatload of other people. They falcon-punched the Pope out of Rome and proclaimed the True Roman Empire, back in Rome for a change. Screenshots! Scenarios (Hard, not-so-hard, easy, very easy) ![]() Advisers, ORIGINAL ARMY NAMES!, Generals, Emperor (9/9/9, as is his heir) ![]() Showing new government forms and unit types ![]() All of the overpowered-ness was made because they're a "Pagan" (as Barbarians like to say) OPM. If you use later start dates (especially the last one), it will be a cake-walk to take over the ex-empire's lands, even the whole world, all before 1600. -->Linky <-- Current version: 0.2 When installing a new version, delete the old one first (transfer saves if possible). Old versions 0.1 Also: The mod is tested with the latest versions of the game (currently 4.1 beta) with no errors. Stay well, citizens

Hmm, looks like you found something else to do when we haven't got anything to do for TDY. Looks interesting, I've got EU:Rome VV on loan from a friend though, so I'm not sure if I download this. But anyway, looks nice!
E: I don't think Julius Caesar would be a 9/9/9. Rome had internal troubles in his era, I think it should be something like 8/7/9.

should mod a new difficulty, ridicoulously easy, which would defeat the "purpose" of the mod, have the roman empire at its height. no more blobby france or england! aaaaand, mod in a super king of scotland, who doesnt need to deal with truces and just takes your land.

I'm using it with the latest beta patch with no such issues. (it can be found in the tech support forum)
I'll add a notification, then.

tried, liked and liked it, the first mission is easy you just have to declare war as soon as you get it, the second is harder i fought an epic war to get the provinces, had to fight Milan, Venice, Bohemia, Castille and Genoa at once.
after finishing mission to i got a few other missions which i finished and then one to conquer Napoli, so i annexed Naples in a short war. few odd things i noticed: despite being latin tech group i got azab infantry at land level 6 no province or national decisions for Rome, not even the regular or focus ones. |
