RPG Hall of Fame

Welcome to the EU2 RPG Hall of Fame

This is where we put all those lucky souls who have been voted the best player of the month.
It might look a little barren now but I assure you some day this thread will be jam packed with the very best players.
So don't be shy, have a look around and marvel at the quality of the lucky souls who have been recorded here as the finest players of them all. For here age, gender, creed, language and culture have no meaning all players have an equal chance to be recorded here for posterity.

So grab the world by the scruff of the neck and make us remember your passage. Every month the very best will be selected and put to a vote by the members of this game. The winner will be put here for all to see. To get a nomination is recognition of exceptional performance, to win an award means you were the best of the best.
So stand tall my friends, breathe life into your characters, rule your nations wisely and you too could be recorded in the hall of legends.

THE ROLL OF HONOUR OF THOSE OF WHO HAVE BEEN THE VERY BEST

Best Player This records the player and runners up for portraying the best characters, the most detailed posts and for outstanding contribution to the game.

Best Court This award goes to the best-designed, most frequently updated most spectacular court there is.

Best Newcomer This award is especially for those of you who have recently joined the game. Those eligible for the award must have played for no more then 6 weeks.

Special Achievement This award is for those special folks out there who make this the most exceptional, friendly and enjoyable place to be. Nominees have assisted the mods to run the game in a fair and even fashion. Those brave enough to assist with the rules engine, maintain special threads or generally contribute to the forum in ways beyond being a mere player.

Most Important Event This award will record the most earth shattering event that has occurred.

Keeper's choice award This award is given to an unsung hero of the game. The winner is chosen only by the Keeper of the Hall of Fame. All members and mods are eligible for this award. Those who have poured their hearts into the game and haven't won a prize before will be hunted down and preserved forever in this award.

Best Character This award is given to the most influential, most colourful and most detailed character.
It is in essence recognition of those agents who fired the imagination of us all and drew us deeper into the tale we share.

Not all of these awards will be grated on any particular month.
The awards in silver will only be awarded when we have enough nominees to make the contest interesting.
All other awards will be awarded per calendar month.

AMMENDED RULES

Folks I'm revising the rules that operate here.

1) Players may not vote for themselves. Breaking this means your vote is declared invalid and not counted in the final tally.

2) Voting pacts are strongly prohibited. Votes that appear to be part of a voting pact will be marked and only included in the final tally if the reason for the vote is clearly explained.

3) Votes can be changed up to one hour before the deadline.

4) Voting after the deadline will get your vote declared invalid and it will not be counted in the final tally.

5) In the final tally the number of invalid votes will be clearly displayed.

Now some of you are going to be most concerned with rule 2.
Some votes that have been cast strongly imply that 2 or more voters decided to vote for each other. The reason voting pacts are going to be closely examined is to ensure the awards are clear of any bias. In all elections there are some votes which are deemed to be incorrectly made.
Rule 5 helps to show you how many votes were declared invalid.

A possible rule 6 would be to list the owners of invalid votes.
Thus giving their owners 24 hours to address the reason the vote was rejected.

Rule 2 may be dropped if it fails to show any effectiveness.
Put bluntly if there are no signs of voting pacts at the next voting I will remove it.

I know that these elections can raise expectations and can be cruel when winning votes get thrown out.
I'm posting these revised rules to help clarify the situation.
I will be reviewing this post to make sure it is as accurate and easily understood as possible.

I expect these new rules to cause some concern and welcome any comments by PM.

Remember folks that the Hall of Fame team want to ensure that everyone gets a fair chance to win a prize.
Special awards can be made should the circumstances arise that call for them.

I'm guessing that we're voting...

Best Player: Abstain for the moment. None really stand out in my mind at the moment.

Best Court: Holstein. Just noticed their court today, very ascetically pleasing, well-organized, and complete.

Best Newcomer: Innocent, though, I feel like damning him for defying the Reichstag and the Emperor...grr

Special Achievement: Going with Longinus, for taking over events during Reb's absense. Nice work!

Most Important Event: Avoiding Pan-European War(Does that really count as an event?). If it doesn't, then probably the Papal Elections.

Best Character: Friedrich of Saxony again...beautiful ending post. I look forward to his children.

Best Player: Tied between KW and Longinus. You wouldn't believe how much pushing both did on Lord E to get him to agree/disagree on treaties to France.

Best Court: I wouldn't know

Best newcomer: Innocent all the way. I never saw someone getting so quickly into his role.

Special Achievement: All the German players who, for once, were ready to get into action against England.

Most important event: The events in Gallia.

Best character: Friedrich of Saxony.

Best Player: Well, even though he gave me Hell in Mecklemburg, Longinus has proven a rather Machiavellian opponent, and I am sure I'll bump into him again. But he is very, very tough, as I found out the hard way.

Best Court: Hmm, tough one... I need time to think

Best newcomer: Argh, unfair. There are a lot of good ones. I'll think about it.

Special Achievement: Longinus taking over for Reb. Luckily, I came whole through the events.

Most important event: The French crisis. Almost threw me and all of Europe into a big, nasty war.

Best character: Friedrich of Saxony, what a guy! A real man... but generally I think we need even more characters to spice up the game

Player: No one stood out above the crowd, though many turned out some excellent performances. I guess I'll go with Longinus this month.

Court: Abstain

Newcomer: Innocent all the way. He jumped right into his role and has already turned out some amazing posts. This isn't to downplay the other newcomers this month, but Innocent has done amazingly well.

Special Achevements: German Unity

Event: I'm not going for the French thing. It ended too neatly. I'll vote for the Papal elections.

Character: *waves bye-bye to Friedrich the Spoiled*

Best player: Well, I'll say Molleby of Denmark. This, however, is more due to his previous incarnation as the duke of Mecklemburg. Sad to see you join the enemy, Molleby

Best newcomer: Innocent, allthough cccino deserves an honourable mention.

Best court: No idea. Abstains.

Important event: Well, I'd say the fact that the Emperor and ICC actually managed to create something resembling a unified Imperial front.

Achievement: Longinus for being the creator of the trade system, which has now passed the test of time, and for acting as events-mod in Reb's absence... BTW, welcome back Reb.

Best character: Galt of Denmark, or Brahe of Sweden.

Hey folks,

Just a note that this month's HOF will not be posted as the HOF is going under an extreme overhaul. Thanks for all those who have taken their time to vote, but with the creating a new and improved HOF there just isn't enough time to count votes etc. Thanks again for the understanding, and please keep a look out for something that is going to be very big!!

Always the best,
KW.
