I'm starting an ARR as Naples.
The FedARRation of Naples.

Version EU 3 and IN 3.1
The Whole World Mod

It will start in the year 1506. Although the save file started in 1399..

I started playing the game before I had been to the forums. So after finding the AAR section i decided to write one. but i didn't want to start a new file. so i decided to use my current file in the Whole World Mode.

I'll get some background info up in a little while (things that happened from 1399 - 1505) in a little while.

Ok this background info will not be done in the story-like narrative as the rest of the AAR

First act of business was to annex Sicily. Did so through war.
Next was to hurt main rival Milan through embargoes/spy missions/warring with their enemies to take land they want/small wars with them.
Crusade called on Morocco, I was doing poorly economically, due to force build up to match Milan.
Invaded Morocco to get Crusade's bonuses. Eventually took most of North Africa forming a border from Gafsa to Sus.
Argon entered a personal union with Argon, I was the Senior partner.
France (big power in my game) Declares war on Milan. I declare separately on Milan to land grab.
Recently did the national idea that puts the King as head of religion not the pope. Also reorganized to Empire.

Ok so thats about 100 years in a few lines haha

CHAPTER I

1507

The Empire of Naples has just signed a peace treaty with their rival Milan to the north. Now as his empire enters a new period of peace Emperor Ferrante I commissions the building of 7 carracks to further increase our naval supremacy in the mediterranean. Even as he steers his empire out of war, the Emperor considers possibilities for further expansion. His first target is the powerful Ottoman Empire to his west. A secondary target his what little opposition is left in the states of Morocco, Fez, and Algiers. His final possibility is to invade Spain, for attacking our union partner Aragon in the past. Yet any declaration of war comes with Algiers possibly declaring on us for they have warned us of starting more wars.

Spies are sent to Albania which is controlled by the Ottoman Empire, to start a Patriotic revolt. As our spy network is very proficient a 3,000 man revolt rises and our spies are not discovered. Although since it was manly poor conscripts the Ottoman forces defeated the revolt. The failing of this revolt to overthrow the Ottomans is taken as a sign from God to halt plans for invasion.

News from the Papal States! The Pope has finally offered a solution to the Protestant and Reformist ideas spreading through Europe. During the Council of Taroudant changes to the Catholic policies were agreed upon. With this alternative to these new religious ideas the Emperor aims to heal relations with the Pope to learn the Counter-Reform's rules and put them effect. Over the next year Ferrante plans to set aside a portion of our tax revenues to send as gifts to the Pope.

The Emperor ordered five of our armies to move from Rome to positions bordering Bosnia and the Ottoman Empire. In preparation for a possible invasion of Bosnia. The Emperor learned that Bosnia is only allied to the Ottomans, so DOW-ing them would only bring the Ottomans and not their list of allies into the war. Also troops stationed around Algiers to prevent their intervention into future wars.

During a meeting with his advisors the Emperor' learns that the construction of a new ship type, the barque, is now possible due to new advances in naval technology. Also he learns the defenses in the Empire are being neglected due to our offense heavy policies.

Ferrante I reforms our military policies when news that a fort may fall if changes in policy are not put into effect immediately. To strengthen our colony, Martinique, the Emperor's Colonial advisor suggests more colonists be sent to the colony. The Emperor agrees and the colonists are sent after a few days of preparations.

Frustrated that pirates have been preying on our trading ships, the Emperor commissions new ships to be built, twelve carraks and six barques. Shortly after this the Emperor falls ill and names his daughter Giovanna II his successor. On November 4th 1507 our beloved Emperor Ferrante I died peacefully in his sleep. The past few weeks his illness grew worse and after a long battle he finally joins our lord in heaven.

Giovanna II takes up the title Empress, although she had unofficially been in charge of the empire since the late Emperor fell ill. Giovanna's first task as Empress is to field the ships her father commissioned into a new fleet to patrol our coastal waters. The new fleet helps in the celebration of the new year as the next day it sails of to patrol.

Simultaneous revolts happen in our colony of Trarva and our Provence of Tetouan. The nationalist revolt in Tetouan is easily defeated be our forces already stationed in Tetouan later the next day. The Trarva revolt however takes the forces their a few months to defeat due to the unorthodox fighting style of the natives. Our colony of Martinique sends word that the colonists we had sent had reached the colony without any complications.

The Size of the Empire Dark Purple is Aragon the junior partner of a personal union with me.

1. I'm not sure yet. I kinda like Naples flag better haha. Atm i own the provinces to create Italia, just need to gain core on them so we will see.

2. Well this map doesn,t include my other couple colonies, I have one in the Canaries, Carribean, Trarza, and Samtoy. So far i've just been colonizing at random haha. I think i'm gonna work on making current colonies into provinces before colonizing more.

3. Yes i did this on my way out the door to school this morning (posting obviously) so ill add a full world map, close up of each continent showing all countries.

If you have any other questions/suggestions feel free to post cuz im new to this so im open to ideas, thanks for reading

CHAPTER II

1508

After word that the colonists had reached Martinique, the Empress had more colonists shipped to the colony. Our explorers report that the Persian Gulf is a new exotic locale the Empire may exploit. Other new lands include Ahmadabad, Surat, Makran, and Coast of Maddines.

An aristocrat having just arrived from the colony of Samtoy told the tale of his narrow escape from the colony. This escape was necessary due to the recent pirate blockade of the colony. Unfortunately the Empress declared the blockade not worthy of his navies attention.

A body of water closer to home is almost simultaneously attack by more pirates, in the Tyrrenean Sea. The Empress then issues the order that the Second Mediterranean Fleet to deal with the pirates.

The newest batch of colonists have sent word that they have arrived in Martinique. They report further that they had discovered the Equatorial Counter Current.

A newly recruited and rather cocky spy attempts to start a revolt in the Ottoman province of Ragusa. Do to his understatement of his prowess, the patriots of Ragusa refuse to revolt and turn him into Ragusa's authorities.

The Pirates of the Tyrrenean Sea retreat and are pursued by the Second Mediterranean Fleet. Soon after this the Admiral of the fleet reports that the pirates had been defeated utterly.

The colony of Trarza reports they have an abundance of fish populating inland waters. The Empress confirms the proposal that fish be made the main export of Trarza.

Relations with the Pontiff are healed enough to finally embrace the Counter-Reformation act. With this the Empress hopes to bring more glory to the true Catholic faith, as well as institute the Pope approved reforms. With the taking up of this act the Empress declares war on the Protestant Bosnia.

This war is used to force the powerful Ottomans to fight our mighty Armies without help from their allies. Also, it is a safe way to force Algiers to in effect waste is warning of the Empire when it is poorly prepared to fight us. Aragon joins the war alongside the Empire, although the weak-minded Portuguese refuse to help us in this conflict.

1509

On the African front of the war news is good. Although Algierian troops are moving to siege the province of Kabylia, our forces our in motion to lift the siege as soon as it is started. This move is made simultaneously with a move of forces into the Algier province of Al Djazair.

On the Ottoman/Bosnia front the news is far better. The poorly trained Bosnian army is routed in Hum, then put out of existence in Bosnia. Forces are then moved to positions to invade Ottoman territory. While the Second Fleet engages, and soon scuttles a small transport escort fleet of the Ottomans.

News from Algiers is that the Algierian Army is beaten in Kabylia, then retreats into my awaiting army in Al Djazair. A strike force is sent to Constantine to lay siege.

With large successes in the sieges of Bosnian soil, troops are pulled to marshall a 22,000 man army used to invade Albania. The troops, eager for spoils of war, storm the ramparts the first day of the siege. They easily overrun the 1000 man garrison and take the province.

Also news from the colony of The Canaries states that Iron deposits have been found. Thus calling for the colony to produce Iron as its main export.
