Please use a file type with less compression. The .jpg artifacts are hurting my eyes.

The picture quality is the same as in the screen shots Paradox supplied, so I can't help it.

Some observations:

the diplomatic mapmode is now a layer above the terrain mapmode, so you can see both at the same time

terrain doesn't follow provinces (some provinces have more forest then others), same with rivers

it looks to me like some rivers are wider then others, or am I seeing wrong?

You can also clearly see which cities are urban. Take a look at Paris and Berlin for an example.

One comment - I hope you can see at least the terrain, target provinces and the weather all in one go.
Another comment - I dont like the troop graphics they blend too much with the map hope theres a shadow or something, I also prefer the existing HOI2 infantry graphics I somehow dont like seeing a single man depicting an army.
My other comment is the map looks too much Like a map - Paradox should take a look at Rome Total War's map.
Finally its also very .... well ..... grey isnt it? Is it supposed to be relatively colourless? I mean I prefer realistic warlike colours as opposed to bright gamey greens such as are the Civilisation maps etc (urggg!) but these seem a bit too grey for my liking. I wonder if the map will change as the war progresses!Now that would be superb seeing the cities gradually get bombed out black smoking ruins. I would really like to see snow on the ground in winter and grass in summer etc like Rome TW.

a consequence of the province-size now being approximately the area of metropolitan Paris/London/Berlin

in order to get to the river you'd actually have to get through the Urban Terrain first ...
