Before I begin, let us sing the National Anthem of Liberia!

All hail, Liberia, hail! (All hail!)

All hail, Liberia, hail! (All hail!)
This glorious land of liberty
Shall long be ours.
Though new her name,
Green be her fame,
And mighty be her powers,
And mighty be her powers.
In joy and gladness
With our hearts united,
We'll shout the freedom
Of a race benighted,
Long live Liberia, happy land!
A home of glorious liberty,
By God's command!
A home of glorious liberty,
By God's command!

All hail, Liberia, hail! (All hail!)
All hail, Liberia, hail! (All hail!)
In union strong success is sure.
We cannot fail!
With God above
Our rights to prove,
We will o'er all prevail,
We will o'er all prevail!
With heart and hand our country's cause defending,
We'll meet the foe with valour unpretending.
Long live Liberia, happy land!
A home of glorious liberty,
By God's command!
A home of glorious liberty,

By God's command!

Intro - The first Step to Freedom

Liberia started without any expectations into the New Year. But this should change as US President Franklin Delano Roosevelt decided to visit Liberia.

FDR and Barclay on a Jeep shortly after his arrival in Monrovia

On January 1st 1936, at 15:00 he arrived in Monrovia where he was welcomed by Edwin J. Barclay and the rest of his Government. Together they headed to the Government Building in the Center of Monrovia. After 1 hour, they arrived and entered the Building as suddenly hell broke out on the Streets. The hole Building was destroyed in a huge Explosion and everyone inside was killed: The Government of Liberia and President Roosevelt

Reaction of American Newspapers

What a start. :p The government wiped out and the president of the US of A dead. Guess that'll sow some bad blood.

What a way to start, a destroyed government and a dead US president. I reckon we can start to break our ties with the US now, right?

You will see in the next Update! ;)

Uuuh, breathtaking news! A dark day indeed- but there will be a new dawn, a better one!

Cheers,
von Landorf.

Indeed!

revolt risk +50? geez the liberians must have been in love with FDR

no, they are rioting! :)

Wow, thats... unexpected.

On the other hand it is a great way to get our ministers in place.
And ofcourse eccential for a free Liberia.

I think that this way will make a better Story....

What a start. The government wiped out and the president of the US of A dead. Guess that'll sow some bad blood.

that was only th beginning^^

PS: Expect the next update in a few days!

Chapter 1 - The Takeover and a Dream

Speech of Inner Circle said:
“I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal.’
I have a dream that one day in Africa, the Sons of former Slaves and the Sons of former Slave Owners will be able to sit down together at a table of brotherhood.
I have a dream that one day even the Colonial Powers of Great Britain and France and other Nations, sweltering with the heat of injustice and sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.
I have a dream that my little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
I have a dream today.”

This speech was held by Inner Circle after his unbloody Takeover in Liberia. He was one of the people in Liberia who had more influence than others in the country. With the help of loyal politicians, he was able to end the Riots on the Streets and established a new Government under his rule.

In the following days, all political Parties of Liberia were banned and the Government took control of everything. Also the Government refused to take Orders from the United States and the Lands and Factories of American Companys were nationalized and incorporated into Liberia´s Industry.

All this Events in Liberia didn´t remain hidden from the International Society and soon after, revolts broke out in British-Controlled Sierra Leone, demanding to join Liberia. The British were unable to surpress these revolts and on January 4th, Sierra Leone was ceded to Liberia, which made this Territory to their national Province after a Plebiscite.

As a result, we started to expand our Military:
