Let's collect the developer quotes here.

About if the game will follow the HoI2 scenario model or the EUIII timeline model, where you can start at any given date:

Scenarios

If the game will take advantage of multi-core processors:
King said:
Podcat keeps stealing my quad core machine to try stuff out on.

About screen resolution:
Balor said:
i think the smallest we support is 1280x1024, but I am not sure.

About historical events:
Balor said:
yeah, that is true.

95% like hoi2...

some may have not exatcly 100% fixed days, some may be changed into historical decisions..

but yeah... historical events as you know it from eu2/hoi2/vicky will be in it.

About the new province system:
Balor said:
10,000 is the land provinces only :)
Balor said:
regions = group of provinces where ic etc is in.

province = LOADS to make proper maneuevers during war.
King said:

Im going to have to interpret this as a confirmation that we will see a Victoriaesque region/provice construction... Nice.
yes things like IC is built in a region while troops move around provinces.

About divisions:
King said:
alan_le_cowboy said:
Why?
People from P'dox said 2 things:
- land provinces ratio between hoi2 and hoi3 will be 1:9
- provinces will be the level where you can put your units

As division was unit scale in hoi2, we should think that new unit scale has to be lower.
It will be the Division.

G'Kar said:
Will divisions be as "static" and the same for everyone like they are in HoI 2? Or will they be more customizable than just adding a brigade?
They will be more customisable.

I was crushingly devastated when I realized that all the various units (e.g. "improved medium tank") were all the same in HoI2. A division of Pz IV's was basically identical to the same type of tank that every other nation could produce.
HoI3 will make you extremely happy then.

About counters:
Balor
I like sprites and play only with sprites..

however, some other developers love counters... and play with them..

so the likelihood of both as options.. is rather high

About system requirements:
Balor said:
Thistletooth said:
Do you have any idea what the system requirements will be?
same as eu3/rome
King said:
We're using the same hardware we developed EU3 on.

Regarding features included:
Balor said:
We're about 1 year from release.

We are not feature complete :)

About beta testing:
Balor said:
wont be anytime soon.
Balor said:
Lothos is already in the early alpha group ;)

About MP games:
Balor said:
its using the same new engine as in eu3/rome

About how awesome it will be :D :
King said:
Wetew said:
Then HoI III must be 5 times better then eu3  ;)
Closer to 9

I know this because Tyler knows this.

Johan presentation on the GC:

Here they are: Part 1 - Part 2

Johan's presentation on Thursday 21 Aug, 14h. Clip's quality is so-so, but better than nothing.

(I hope this doesn't violate any rules?)

C'mon, people, gather more intel!! :D

Hooray to individual units per country. Anyone eager to use Panzerdivison "Das Yak"? :D

Could some mod please make this thread sticky? It's too good a source of information to miss.

You should add this one :

Teaser about new HQ use in HoI3

( several suggestions and ideas on HQ use )
I removed the content as none of it was specifically addressed by Johan's response below, only a reference to an "update on it".

Balor said:
well.. :p I can't comment on this, except that you will most likely love our update on it.

True, but I read it to say that there is some sort of update to HQ usage or mechanics.
Yes, but then let's say that and not quote large postings with unconfirmed content. Just trying not to create rumours here.
