*Civilization Universalis Mod*

Here it is!
Civilization Universalis
For EU3 IN v3.1 and NA v2.2

You can download version 3.01 here (2009.2.17)
This is a Beta version, so it may still contain bugs.
* This update doesn't add too much but it should fix a lot of the reported bugs, like localization issues and culture problems. I have also reduced nations starting manpower, made forts weaker, and added a few new game modes (check the bookmarks on the side)
Post lots of comments, and screenshots too!

You can download the NA version here
For this version only, download this critical patch or the game may crash.

Features of this mod:
  • Many new countries
  • All tech types have 300 tech levels between 1000AD-2000AD
  • 3 New Tech groups
  • All tech groups have equal technology
  • 80+ New units for new tech groups
  • Multiple 'Game Modes':
    • Normal: Each country starts with one high-tax starting province and spreads from there. Countries are relatively close together.
    • Sparse Nations: Same as normal, but with a lot less nations
    • Empty New World: North America, South America, Oceania and Africa (except the north) are empty
    • Empty Old World: Europe, Asia and North Africa are empty
    • Balanced Start: Same as normal, but all provinces have equal tax and manpower values
  • Lots of new cultures and culture groups for new nations
  • Timeline from 1000AD-2000AD
  • Much cheaper colonists, so that you can afford to start out!
  • Seven new religions
  • A complex event system that causes religions to be founded in random places and spread around the globe, causing religious turmoil everywhere.
  • Lots and lots of stuff from WWM, including decisions, events, units, buildings and of course the map.

Special thanks to:
mauzzer For making the original Civilization Universalis

I'm looking forward to test this, sounds interesting. Unfortunately the test has to wait a bit as I have some other duties first...

Will you try to transfer this to IN when it is available?

Downloading right now!

I have waited for this since EU2, I loved the phantasia campaign, but hey, seven nations on the whole world, that seemed pretty low. Let´s see how your mod plays out! If you don´t hear from me again, it´s probably a good sign!

Thanks for making and sharing this!

I will certainly try, although it will probably take a while because IN is changing so much. (especially the map)

for me it's working incredibly slow...it took me 15 minutes with full speed from 30 may to 15 september (with also some small pauses). Is this because of the countries sending colonists?

(I was playing as Egypt)

Sorry, I forgot to mention this. The game starts out quite slow from all the colonists being sent, but it starts running faster and faster as some nations run out of room to expand and less colonists are travelling at once. There's no way around this, so just be patient when you are starting a new game.

Brandenburg somehow has ships in neutral, uncolonised province? Interesting.

And why are you using the Coat of Arms of Russia (and even more so with the CoA of Moscow attached) for the Roman Empire situated in actual Rome? Just asking...

Notice the river leading from Brandenburg to the ocean, with the port at the river mouth .

Ah! I knew there was a perfectly reasonable explanation for this.

Yeah, it could be that you made a mistake when naming the flags of course (done that myself too).

Modern day Coat of Arms of Russia (note the COA of Moscow).

There's many differences between this and the original mod.
Most particularly, there's no old age techs in here. The game doesn't start in Jan 51. It starts in May 1453.
Thirdly, tech is just as important in this as it is in the original game, in the original mod it was more about armies and expansion.

If I wanted to use the scenario editor for this mod, what would the mod directory be called?

Silly me, thanks for noticing. This is too small a problem to be worth patching, but I will definitely look into it for the next version.
