Can I port my CK game over to EU3?
One of the justifications given by Paradox of the start date of 1453 in EU3 was that it tied with the end date of CK. OK. Can I port my CK end game over to EU3. I recall it was possible with EU2.
Any advice is appreciated.

Usermade CK-EUIII converter, I don't think it is ready yet.

OK, I accept that memory can play tricks, but for some reason when I was reading some of the EU3 development threads that was a reason given to justify the 1453 start point as opposed to the 1420 start point that I and a lot of others wanted to see (as per EU2). For some reason it stayed in my memory and I thought at the time well, ok, I'm not happy about the later start, but at least there is the logic of the continuity with CK. Unfortunately, I cannot find the thread for you and must assume it has now been deleted. I don't doubt that Paradox would do a converter, since they've done them elsewhere, so I suspect it is not a terribly difficult issue. It may have forgotten though since in all fairness they have been very active with the HOI/EU3 add on, EU3 updates etc. Hopefully the likes of Johan will see this and be persuaded, although I gather Hallstam is working on an unofficial one.

I don't know if they have any plans to do a convertor, but if they do, it could possibly be in Deus Vult. That is just a guess though, so don't get your hopes up based on what I am saying.

I don't think that Paradox will make a converter, the converter CK-EU2 was relatively easy (but not a big success). User-made convertes are usually better then the official ones.
Also not many people use the converter, so I hope Paradox spents its time on more urgent matters

The CK-->EUII convert definately gave some odd results.

So far, Paradox conterters have been quite terrible. On the other hand, we had users making terrific converters. People would usually only use user-made converter. So i guess Paradox gave up making it themselves.

If so, they did right. Only Paradox can fix bugs and make new games using their engine; any fan who's willing to learn a bit of programming and spend a few months of evenings can make a converter - after all, it's only text handling and some decisions about how to convert. I'd much rather use valuable Johan-time on things only he can fix, and useless fan-time on converters.
