Question Formation of Ireland

Recently I have been playing Leinster like mad, with my end goal; to form Ireland. I started in 1453, and played up until 1536, with no luck in achieving an independent island. By 1500 I had annexed all of the other Irish countries, and fought a successful war with England, resulting in a ceding of Meath. A few questions.

Does it play out as an event if I own all of Ireland? If so how long after I annex, diplo-annex, or attain the provinces? Finally can other countries be formed this way? ie. Wales, Netherlands, Prussia, Russia?

I'm not sure how long it takes before you get the event to form Ireland, you can check it from ecents files. Think it's 216 months (but the time may be reduced by some factors).
And yes, you can form Netherlands and Russia same way. Wales must revolt out of England before it gets formed, not sure about Prussia.

The formation of Ireland fires as a event. It will give you two options one will be like no I don't want to form Ireland the other will be yes! I want to form Ireland, and its gives you stability, Prestige, and some cores. At least thats what it did for my formation of Germany as Brandenburg.

You can also form Germany, Italy, Great Britian, Mughal Empire and France. I'm assuming that the formation of France is if you're playing as Brittany and France got destroyed in years of figthing becuase France can't exsist for the formation event.

You forgot England.

Yes, you can, [God knows why], form England.

Probably for the same reason as France: in case England or Great Britain ceases to exist, then nations such as Cornwall or Canada can create England again.

Yeah I think its for when your playing as Cornwall or Northumberland. So when you destroy/annex England you can form it back again..

But unlike with France, such countries rarely if ever exist. I mean, Navarre, Brittany, or any French minor can form France. Cornwall, Lancashire and Canada are rather less likely to form, let along conquer the entirety of Southern England.

How exactly would one play them short of loading as England anyway and letting them revolt?

It's probably for completeness' sake. Spain, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy and Ireland all contain several potential states, and all have nation-forming events. So does England, however unlikely it is those states will first get free, then get hold of the prerequisite provinces without human intervention.

The whole form England thing is a bit weird - it's already happened in 1453.

As for english minors that's even sillier, either the whole country fragments or none of it, not just a couple of random corners.

Independant Northumberland? Sounds to me like too many Swedish football fans believing John Hall's Geordie nation rhetoric!

Of course personally I'm in favour of Northumbrian Independence - that's about the only way we'll ever get on the TV without being portrayed as fat, happy but stupid, football mad drunks.

Regarding Prussia, If you start the game in 1701 (pretty sure that's the date) then you can play as Prussia. Game's more than halfway over by then, but it's still worth noting.
