CK Map Reader - Decode map data from the CK TBL map files.

I've had a go at decoding some of the map files, and after having finished with the id.tbl file, have made a quick program that lets you make a map image from the file. Either a basic, land/water map as shown here , or a political map from a savefile as shown here. It can also make black and white maps (if you set both land and water to be drawn white) as shown here . I guess the main use for this is for AAR maps and such.

You can download the program here.

Please let me know of any problems you come across, or any suggestions you have for future work.

I wish this could have been around at the start of my AAR! Thanks for your hard work! Still working on a political map for my AAR; I might post a link here to show another example. Would that be ok?

Of course; whatever you do with the maps you create is fine with me, so long as you aren't selling them. The only reason I could see in making this program was in helping people who make AAR's; so obviously anything they do with this program is fine with me. Acknowledgement, so that anyone else that wants to make similar maps can do, would be much appreciated, but not expected.

I came across some weird thing. When drawing a political map based on the savegame, I saw that one of my vassals is shown in a different colour, which means I presume that he is independent. But save says otherwise.

Is the vassal part of a different kingdom than your king titles ? If so, it's aknown issue :

Known Issues:

The political map only looks for the ultimate Liege title of each province, and does not take into account that two such titles may be held by one person. Thus sometimes, such jointly owned titles will be drawn as seperate countries. For example, the Kingdom of Burgundy is drawn seperate to the Kingdom of Germany in the 1066 scenario even though they are both owned by the same person. I will need to make sure the program takes into account the leaders as well as the titles.

I was a king of Portugal, Castile, Leon, Aragon and Navarre and my vassal was duke of Catalonia. I'm not sure that his domain could have belonged to any different crown than the ones I owned by that time.

Anyway, thanks for the fix, I'll go and check it.
