Succession war peace is screwed up

Anyone know how I can get the computer to allow me to choose the succession war peace option?

No one on either side has made peace but for some reason I don't have an option for winning the succession war.

You need to be making peace with the right country - then you should have a 70% (40%?) option to get a personal union.

What's so great about a personal union, though?

There's a 10% chance of inheriting the country when it's over...you get an additional vassal who automatically declares war whenever you do/are attacked for +1 prestige each time...you get half their monthly income...they can't break the vassalage...you're automatically given military access to their lands...but mainly the 10% chance.

yeah, i got a question about this too! I got in a succession war with Sardinia over Corfur, where I was the one leading the newly formed personal union.

As I tried to sue for peace at one time I could see the option where I were to be confirmed the new king of Corfu. They didn't agree on the terms, but soon afterwards got vassilised by one of my Allies (seperatly), so when I once again tried to sue for peace, the option of making me king of Corfu didn't exist - so i thought i already got it. However, there is no evidence of my being the ruler of Corfu too - usually it says "in a union with..." somewhere - but no!

can someone pleace explain this? I did win the war...

I am there is only two memeber in the alliance I'm at war with.

one is a one province nation I have occupied

2nd is a two province nation have have occupied

against both nations I have 100% was score. no one has made peace no option for forcing them to acknowledge my claim.

I know how is suppost to work its simply not working.

Is there a flag for succession wars that could have been screwed up?

Succession wars are touchy if anyone one, its appears, makes peace on either side even nations not of the three principle parties you seem to lose the option.

No, sorry. It's very hard to test this kind of thing, because there's no way for a modder to manually trigger a succession war, and waiting for one to happen can take hours.

I'll see what I can do, though.

I've had several succession wars in my last two games, and haven't had a problem with forcing the succession as long as the three primary participants are still in the war.

Only problems I have are the AI choosing to vassilize Modena, rather than get into a PU with Burgundy (me), and a bug where the reign of the forced lesser partner is displayed as starting the 1st of January, year 1.

Apparently 1.3 increased the chance of inheriting the lesser partner in a PU, though the changelog didn't say by how much.

Are you the one to which the nation was intended, or are you challenging the claim?
