Change which country I play?

Hi

I've got Vicky (not Revolutions) and was wondering how i change my country to play as one of the others on the menu where you choose. I am currently playing a game as the UK and can right click on that flag and choose a minor power, but i want to now play as Italy, but that are a great power and one of the other flags on the menu

Is there a way for me to change and play as Italy? Do I have to download a mod this?

Havent tried this myself but you probably could go into the save game files and change which nations are on the original window. not sure if that is possible, someone please clarify? The best way is forward planning ie. dont put other great nations on the start up

Go to the main menu, select Multiplayer and change the name there (to anything, it doesn't matter). Now go back to your save game, and you will be able to select any country.

You can change countries in the single player menu. Just select your save game and click on any nations' flag before clicking okay to load.

They're greyed out unless you do the multiplayer thing.

Is this since 1.04? I never had problem switching before?

I believe this has always been the case for a player created save.
