Errr, research..gone?

I have a slight problem...I decided to visit my grandmother and put my saved game on a disk and took it with me to play at her house when I got bored, so I did and when I loaded up and played I finished researching one and then realized I only had two area's I could research in when before hand I had several...anyone know what could have caused this?

Possibly... you broke the game!!!
More than likely, you have reached a stage that there is no more techs to research until you reach a certain date when new techs will become available to research again.

Ah, I suppose that would make since...afterall I did uninstall and do a complete clean reinstall three diffrent times...but does that remove the catagory completely until somthing new comes up?

Yes, since techs (commercial, cultural, industrial, army and naval) are tiered into 6 tiers and the tiers are determined by dates, which become noticeable generally by the 4th or 5th tier.

Ah, thanks, I don't recon I have ever had that happen...or notice it before. Anywho, thanks again, it had me worried there for a moment.
