Kill natives?

Should i kill all natives before colonizing?

If i send just one settler and wait (20 years?) will the native population be the town population (1k settlers + natives) or they'll be just 1k settlers?

Ausrotten!!!

Seriously: Depends on how aggresive and/or fericious they are; if they are very aggressive but not quite ferocious or vice versa you could try it out (when a province is fully colonized while the natives are kept alive, the natives will immediately count as citizens, thus the province will beproviding more income). If they are terribly aggresive and very ferocious, better is to slaughter them all or at the very least bring them to such a low level they won't form a threat.

No, you should not.

If you can afford it, let one (or more if there are many natives - dunno how the ratio is, would guess about 1 for every 3-4k natives) regiment guard the colony.

Btw, i recommend not sending one settler, since pop growth is per 10 years (so 10% for 100 pop from a settler mean 10 per ten years or 1 per year).
Send as much asap (if you come to a number of about ~950, 9 are enough and you can wait for pop growth to reach 1k).

Once you reach 1k pop, all natives will be absorbed into the city. Nice if there are 10k natives.

Beware however, high aggression and feriousity will reduce you colonizing chances (esp for the first settler) as well as the likehood of a native attacks. If you got natives with a ratio above 5, you should consider this... It is often only a short delay - though a costly one.

I always whipe the lands clean of natives before colonising them. This is mainly because I usually have an enemy or 2 in Europe or the New World and they like to send spies to incite natives. These always attack your colony. If there's a lot of natives your colony will most likely be whiped out. Also loosing colonists when the natives attack your settlement when they arrive is very annoying.

Kill em if they have high aggressiveness, spare em if they don't. That's all.

I hate Mel Gibson as much as I loved the South Park episode featuring him!
