So now it`s easier for the Huron or Mali to westernise than Poland?!
How long you have to wait for a 5-star-statesman, ADM=7, to become highly innovative and then to trigger a event with months like 180, too?

I think every tech group should be able to westernise, but step for step...

You forgot to add that you must become christian to westernize from african or american tech groups. It's a difficult feat, I was told.
But yeah, statesman=5 is probably the most irritating event trigger ever...

No, you don't need to be Christian - that's one of the changes from 1.1 to 1.2. However, although it might be easier for the Huron to Westernise than Poland, Poland doesn't get the 50% tech penalty for being stuck with tribal governments.

I read i don`t get cavalry as westernised african/american country, but do I get ships? Can now invade the Inca Europe?

I noticed that at least 2 of the african nations aren't tribal(Songhai and Adal). So you can get european technology speed in a region were all the rest has 10% technology speed(20% african * 50% tribal=10%). This could allow you to completely dominate the region. I wonder if the AI understands the value of westernization and goes aggresively after it now?

I tried this in 1.1. But it is hard to get a border with a latin country. In the north are the Mameluks with a big empire of rich provinces, much higher tech speed, forts, cavalry and tropical provinces.
Maybe the other way around Africa...

i would take the way north to marocco. it is usually conquered by spain sooner or later an then you will have a border with a latin country. or try to conquer a province next to tangiers that is usually hold by portugal

who needs latin tech group? as a player you can be as fast in teching with eastern as you do with latin tech group. just conquer rich provinces and make the poor provinces become your vassals
