CrusadAARs Chalice Nominations: Late 2006
Alright folks, I hope you enjoyed your three month break because we're back! Here's a revised revised schedule:
April: Nominations for Late 2006 May: Nominations for Early 2005, Voting for Late 2006 June: Nominations for Late 2005, Voting for Early 2005 July: Voting for Late 2005 August: Nominations for Early 2007 September: Voting for Late 2007 ----------- For those of you who just joined us, the CrusadAARs Chalice is a twice-yearly award given to the favorite CK AAR completed within that time frame. Former winners, as well as those AARs which earned other awards, can be found here. Eligiblity: While researching I've found 22(!) AARs which meet the criteria I set forth. Specificially these were: 1) Between July and December 2006: a) Ended (in 1453 or at a given point by the author) b) Failed due to a technical error or c) Abandoned, but the author made it clear they were doing so. 2) The author must have made six updates (to show some effort.) 3) The author is in good standing with Paradox. (It's their boards.) Some of these were judgement calls. (Is this a complete ending? Does this count as an update?) If you believe I've overlooked one (or included one that I shouldn't have) - it's certainly possible. Send me a PM. I'll be happy to review it and, if needed, update the list. How to Nominate: Everyone can nominate once. They may nominate the same AAR someone else has (in effect seconding/thirding/etc. it,) or choose a new one. At the end of the nomination phase, the five AARs with the most nominations will 'advance.' (If there are less than five AARs nominated, they alone will advance. If there's a tie that takes us beyond five places, the tied AARs will advance as well.) I will ask a moderator to set up a poll for us, and we'll vote. Deadlines: The nomination phase will close on April 30, 2007 Through May we will vote on the Chalice. We will also begin nominating for early 2005 at that time.

Ahh, good that you revived this. Let me be first to nominate.
I nominate Lübeck: Against the tide by angryclown. It was a tough choice between this and Kosaca Chronicles but this was so amazing AAR it had to be nominated.

A Silent AAR - The picture scroll of the Kingdom of Jerusalem by Gratianus
The detail and effort were extraordinary but hidden so it read instantly. j.

Uh. Too many AARs I read and enjoyed are eligible here. When it comes to voting I don't know what I'll do, but for now I'll put down one that still hasn't been nominated:
The de Lusignan Dream - Cyprus 1337 by ComradeOm

There's so many good ones, but I have to go with Lübeck: Against the tide by angryclown

I'll have to go with Gratianus' A Silent AAR - The picture scroll of the Kingdom of Jerusalem .

I must confess I read very few of these. My first instinct is to reward the Lubeck one, but angryclown doesn't seem to post anymore and that doesn't feel right. After that, I really wanna go for quality, but something in me can't stay away from the plucky determination of the Welsh homeland AAR by Jestor. . . but I dunno. It's tugging me. I have goofy instincts.
I absolutely must vote for the picture scroll. The work involved was herculean.

I nominate the Silent AAR twice. I don't care that it was already nominated four times. I also vote for it in advance.

Hannibal, phargle, anonymous: Um... I'm afraid "Silent one" and "picture scroll" need to be clarified. There are two entries that fit that description - one by Gratianus, one by Llywellyn.
Veld is correct. A March necromancer threw me off. The true history of the house von Habsburg by Veldmaarschalk is eligible for consideration. --------------------------- Nomination Count Lübeck: Against the tide by angryclown (2) A Silent AAR - The picture scroll of the Kingdom of Jerusalem by Gratianus (2) Scotland the Shrewd by Slasher (1) In Search of a New Welsh Homeland: The Meriadoc Dynasty by Jestor (1) The de Lusignan Dream - Cyprus 1337 by ComradeOm (1)

Huh, what do you know? There's two of them! Well Gratianus's one was the one I read, but it already has two nominations and Llywellyn's is good too, so I nominate that. Us thoughtless appropriators have to stick together after all!

I am also a fan of Angryclown's Lubeck...
But I shall nominate another magnificent work that deserves consideration... One of a long line of AARs by Veldmaarschalk that deserve consideration... I nominate A True History of the House von Habsburg, by Veldmaarschalk! Rensslaer
