My problems with peace in war of succession
Tried looking through the forums, googled and couldn't find anything.
I'm playing as Denmark and doing pretty good. Pommeian revolted and emerged. I like small countries that are result of rebellions, so I threw guarantees and royal marriages their way. Also I was allied with Castille and keeping good relations to England to avoid nasty wars against great powers. Then I got in the war of pommerian succession against Castille. England is allied with Castille, so I had to defend myself against both. Somehow I am still allied with Castille, and due to a war against some rebelling provinces of Castilles, I ended up in the same alliance as England as well during some point of the war. After a long and very very bloody war, I have a war score of 93%. I sunk their navies with a bleeding heart (as they are the closest thing I have to allies I really do not want to make them that much weaker). Then I tried getting the personal union peace (requires 40% warscore). They refused and kept refusing. As I suggested it to both of them, I pounded them down to -3 stability (again with a bleeding heart). All this for the crown of one small province. What will I have to do to make them accept the 40% war score peace offer? I really hope that I will not have to get 100% war score - it would be nearly impossible.

Look closely at where they have claims and cores.
They are very loathe to surrender cores when they have non-cores to offer you. I also suspect that there are settlements that they simply will not accept no matter what.. they are forcing you to continue fighting until you have 100% war score. I had this problem a couple times already. I think it was Lithuania that attacked me after they had expanded into northern german area... I wanted Desden as part of teh 3 provinces I wanted and they kept refusing. No matter the war score.. they wanted no part of giving me Dresden. They offered me privinces around it many times, I refused and asked for Dresden.. no, no ,no.. eventually I HAD to accept their offer. Eventually, Mecklenberg took Dresden from them.

AFAIK if you keep sending diplomats their way when they're at -3 stab they will eventually give in...sometimes it takes a while. I've heard that taking their capital (if you haven't already) will also speed things along nicely.

it is quite difficult to get castille accepting a peace offer since they have usually lots of provinces. even if you have a warscore of more than 90%, there can be dozens of provinces left that are not occupied yet. so try to occupy more of their provinces or just take the next peace-offer they send to you. you will lose some prestige in doing that but it will end the war to them

Okay thanks for the suggestions.
Btw, I get spammed with peace agreement offers from both sides, offering numerous provinces and hundreds of gold. But as it is a war of succession, I will loose a load of prestige (like all the prestige I have, being #1 in the world) if I take any other peace offer than the one with the succession (tried once and loaded). Guess my only chance is invading their homelands and get the war score up.
