NOT A BUG: Neverending Guarantees

I'm playing as Brunei (yes, Brunei) with the 1.03 patch. China keeps guaranteeing my independence. They must have done it at least a dozen times over the past hundred years. The first few came when I was allied with them, but that was over a eighty years ago. Our relationship is now at -200, but they still send a new guarantee over every once and awhile. I've only seen them guarantee one other country.

I almost never get these...

If you start a new game, does it still happen, does it happen with other nations?

Playing as Malacca, they have done that several times. I always wonder why, do they know something I don't know.

A dozen in 100 years isn't bad. Using guarantees is a clever way for ai or human to get a free CB on somebody (assuming it works

). They don't have to like you to want to war on somebody that DoW's you.

Oh, almost forgot. Guarantees only last for five years as I recall.
