Conversions dont have a % chance?

I just watched one of the video trailer (#3 if your intrested) on gamespot and it looks like conversions are always succesful! If so Woohoo! They are unfortunetly from the looks of it rediculusly expensive (in money sort of, but especially in time) though-- guess its a worthwhile tradeoff though.

In the video the text read as follows:

==================
Send Missionary
Are you sure you wish to send a missionary to <provience name>
Cost: 176.XX Ducats
Time 735 Days

Cancel Ok
==================

No mention of a chance of failure anywhere! Please let it be so!

There is still a % chance for conversion.

I would be disappointed if conversion is made even easier than in EU2. In EU2 it was already too easy to convert populations...I even remember reading an EU2 AAR where somebody converted the whole world (without cheating).

How is that even remotely possible. I have a hard time of converting the stuff I conquer at the beginning of the game before running out of time at the end.

Very Good. The game continues to be more than a tribute to the 7min attention span kids out there. This is not Commmand & Conquer, after all!

Conversion cost, like some other specific costs in the game should be given by a percentage of annual income, modified by whatever variables and not by a lump sum.

well I would never even dream of converting the entire world but I have converted all cores of the ottoman empire and made all of HRE lutheran (damn thoose dutch and french provinces are tough to convert), that is probably the most ambitious games I have ever played when it comes to religion.

While I don't want to see EU reach Victoria levels of complexity, I do hope to someday see culture and religion represented as a % of a population, rather than just being one way or the other. EU4, maybe...

But then a small, low income country would be able to convert a 500,000 population province more easily than a huge one...

It should be province specific i.e. influenced by population, religion groups etc. I assume this is how it would work

cheers
