Music sample EU III
New York, USA (October 26, 2006) – For Europa Universalis III, Paradox Interactive’s biggest production yet, the company recently announced a Collectors Edition that will contain a CD with the complete Europa Unviersalis III soundtrack as well as a composer diary.
The company now confirms that the soundtrack has been originally composed for Europa Universalis III, produced by renowned composer Andreas Waldetoft. This is not the first original soundtrack Andreas has produced for Paradox Interactive, his most recent work could be heard in Hearts of Iron II. “Being involved in the making of Europa Universalis 3 has been a fantastic ride, said composer Andreas Waldetoft. “I feel confident I have created soundtrack that reflects the epic scope of the game while giving the players a subtle sense of its grandness.” The original soundtrack to Europa Universalis III soundtrack will encompass the four main themes of the game: Exploration, Diplomacy, Trade and Warfare. “We are thrilled that Andreas was able to join us for again to work on “Europa Universalis III”, said Susana Meza, Director of Marketing and PR for Paradox Interactive. “His soundtracks strike a perfect balance between blending in and creating an atmosphere that enhances gameplay”. Hmm. The HOI II (or at least DD, if they don't have the same soundtrack) wasn't exactly my favorite. I enjoyed EUII's more, and of course Victoria's is quite excelllent.

A lot of it sounds good - but in my view:
- Remove the (In Swedish) idiofoner and flutes, they make the music sound so much cheaper and similar loose a lot of the feeling. - Isn't the music more medieval then baroque? Positive: - The (In Swedish) membranofoner sounds awesome. - The song sounds awesome. Don't know why, but always believed that dark songs that you don't hear what they sing are awesome for strategy games. ![]() ------ I liked the music for HoI, HoI2 and EU2. TRULY disliked the CK music.

nice sample, but nothing special. Dont know why, but brings to mind AOE or CIV...
if i turned it off i wouldn't lose anything I would add some native american elements to this excerpt, maybe some of these peruvian flutes or sth... P.S. Victorian soundtrack is very good, a lot of classic sets from the XIX cent. Last edited by Lebowski; 26-10-2006 at 19:20. |

It's ok, but I still prefer real music or no music at all.
Da Swede: Just copy Falalan from EU2 folder and remove other songs.

Hmm, sounds sure a lot like movie soundtrack or some generic Civ type game. It does bring exploration kind of feeling but it's just not my cup of tea even though I like the thematic categorisation of the music. Sorry but I would much have preferred historical music as the game period contains more than enough music to build wonderful soundtrack like in Victoria. Anyway, thank you for this update.

Sounds a bit like "Carmina Burana" meets "The Mission", esp with all those open fifths. I almost always play with the music off but I would prefer to be ignoring period era locally correct music, especially with it all being public domain.

I rather liked it, thanks for the taste. Of course, i'll have to toss some tchaikovsky in there, but no worries.

So... so... does the EU3 soundtrack consist of re-interpretations of the four EU1 songs? That would frickin' *rock*.
I'm gonna go reinstall EU1 now...

Infidels the lot of you.
The music for EU3 will be very very good. If you really want historical composers' music, you can always put on a classical CD. No need to bash the EU3 music just because it isn't Mozart. Ayeshteni

Meh, I was hoping for "real" early/baroque music. But if the system works like EU1&2 I suppose it'll be easy enough to move/delete this generic "strategy game music" and replace it with Vivaldi etc. Hopefully we'll still be able to specify which files play during each century/period?
