The unification of Ireland : A duchy of Leinster 1066 AAR
Hi everyone, this will be my first CK AAR. Because my english is not that good I'll use many pics in this AAR.
This AAR will focus on the heir of the current duke of Leinster. His name is Murchaid Ui Mordha. His dream is to unite the island of Ireland under his rule.  Following people are the most important courtiers in Leinster. They will assist Murchaid in his dream when he ascends the throne as duke of Leinster. The first one is Enna. He will be leading the armies of the duchy of Leinster. He will also train new soldiers.  The second one is Dearbforgail. She will be the chancellor of Leinster. Her duty is to uphold the relations with our vazals and other countries in europe.  Our spymaster will be Loigsech. He will prevent enemy spies to infiltrate our court and send spies to other countries in Europe.  The last one is Amalgain who will be our steward. He has the duty to maximise our income.  The duchy of Leinster has alliances with the county of Mide and the county of Ulaid. However both counties will be conquered aswell in the end to realise the dream of Murchaid. I would recomend giving Enna a title and try and get him to succeed. In my games he tends to have better fertility and heirs. (note I havent looked up their fertility, this impression is from 5/6 games as Dublin/Leinster and Murchaid's line keep dying on me).
If Scotland of England throw their weight around too much, you can easily vassalise to England or France and become independant again when you become King. I'd also recomend to go for duchy of Ulaidh first, then Connacht and just leave Munster alone. Sorry if I'm giving too much advise; I dont know how much experience you have in Ireland, but also I dont want to step on your toes. Have fun. I love Irish games. |

The first update will cover multiple posts because I have +- 40 pics taken.
Update 1 : The conquest of Tir Boghain and Sligo 14 June 1067 We grabbed two titles : Count of Tir Boghain and Count of Sligo 26 December 1067 We appointed a new marshall and spymaster. Loigsech will be marshall and Enna will be spy master.   2 January 1068 Marriage between Amalgein Ui Mordha, spy master of Leinster and Brigit O Cearbhaill, chancellor of Osraige. Brigit is also our new chancellor.    29 January 1068 We declared war upon the county of Tir Boghain. Our scouts inform that they have an army of 271 soldiers. The allies of Tir Boghain, the county of Sligo decided to help their ally and declared the same day war upon us. The same day we encounterd the forces of Tir Boghain. The battle lasted till 15 february 1068    15 february 1068 Victory in the first battle of Tir Boghain. The entire Tir Boghain army was slaughtered. We lost 58 brave soldiers. May their souls rest in peace.  ... |

She will be also our new steward.    1 March 1068 The duke received an illness during the siege of Tir Boghain.  8 march 1068 First peace offer received from Tir Boghain. The duke refused the offer  19 april 1068 Desperate attack by Tir Boghain. We easily defeated them.   22 april 1068 Second peace offer received from Tir Boghain. Again refused by the duke  28 june 1068 We mobilised the regiment of the Isle of men. They will help the besieging of Tir Bogain. 15 december 1068 Tragedy has struck the duchy of leinster. The heir of leinster, Murchaid died during the siege of leinster. The new heir of leinster is Enna Ui Mordha, our current spy master and youngest son of the duke. May Murchaid rest in peace.   27 december 1068 The siege of Tir Bogain is over. The duchy of leinster occupies the province. We sent a "peace" offer to the duke of Tir Boghain. He was quickly persuaded to accept the offer. Long live the new count of Tir Boghain, our beloved duke.    28 december 1068 The following day we marched to the county of Sligo to help our allies of Ulaid in their siege of the province.  8 January 1069 Arrival of the leinster army in the county of Sligo. Start of the siege of Sligo.  28 March 1069 A miracle worker arrived at the court and offered to heal Dearbforgail, wife of our beloved duke. 6 september 1069 The county of Sligo attacks our army. They are easily defeated. Their army is slaughtered. We lose 21 brave soldiers. May they rest in peace    21 september 1069 We received a parlay offer from the county of Sligo. We decided to continue fighting.  27 september 1069 First peace offer from Sligo. The duke refused  18 oktober 1069 We mobilise the regiment of Tir Boghain, our new province. 22 december 1069 The siege of Sligo has ended. The province is under our control now. We send them a peace offer wich they accepted. Long live the new count of Sligo, our beloved duke.   The war has ended. All our regiments have returned to their provinces. This is the current situation in Ireland. Yellow : Duchy of Leinster Green : Allies of Leinster Red : Conquered territories. Nice bit of expansion. Shame about the duke being ill, and with his first heir dead as well. Does his other son have any kids? Wouldn't want you to run out of heirs!

13 January 1070 Marriage between Enna Ui Mordha, spy master and heir to the throne of Leinster and Margaret Bruce, spy master in the duchy of Galloway. Margaret is appointed as the new spy master of Leinster.    8 February 1070 Marriage between Maelmordha Ui Mordha, courtier in Leinster and Agatha Rurikovich, courtier in the kingdom of Scotland.    20 March 1070 Enna Ui Mordha, heir to the throne of Leinster has been granted the title count of Sligo.  ... |

21 August 1070 Great tragedy has struck the duchy of Leinster. Our beloved duke has died during the night because of his pneumonia. The new duke is his youngest son Enna Ui Mordha, count of Sligo.   The new duke hasn't any children yet, but one is coming. Let's all hope it's a boy.  26 August 1070 We denied an alliance with the kingdom of Castille.  27 September 1070 Our marshall Loigsech received praise from the duke because of his archievements in the war against Tir Boghain and Sligo  27 Oktober 1070 First child of the duke is born. 10 December 1070 Finan, son of marshall Loigsech Ui Mordha has died. May he rest in peace  17 December 1070 Courtier Ailbe O'Finnley wants to leave our court. Her wish was granted.  15 January 1071 We accepted a marriage proposal from the county of Osraige.  21 February 1071 We grabbed a title : Count of Mido The alliance with the County of Mido and County of Ulaid has ended. They didn't wanted to renew the alliance with our duke. They'll pay for this. 8 April 1071 The duke received the news that his wife is expecting their second child. Everyone hopes for a boy.  This concludes the second update. In the following update we'll attack the county of Ulaid and county of Mide. No failure will be accepted Stay tuned |

Maybe it would have been better to marry a younger woman to Enna? Anyway, good expansion. Now what is your next plan, taking Connaught or Munster by war or trying to get them through marriage?

Taking provinces by marriage is not possible. We'll take them by force. Enna married with an older woman because she improved my steward rating
