Death Match working?

I noticed that my death match victory is not working. Every time I exit the game and re-load the saved game, previouly captured provinces are not counted toward victory. For example, if I set death match provices to be 50, and I newly capture 30 of them, save the game, then exit (go to sleep). Next day, I load the game, it does not show that I already captured 30 provinces. Why?

When you start a new game, click on the "Victory" tab, and you have 4 ways of winning the game: Standard, Supremacy, Deathmatch and Mission. Deathmatch is the one I am having trouble with, although I have not tried the other three.
