I find it easy to leave it up to the computer to handle my ressource/ other convoys, so basically I let 'him' do all the assigning of convoys and escorts. However, the one aspect of this convoy system I don't understand is why the computer keeps putting all my convoys on one trade lane (e.g.: 165 convoys on a lane which normally requires 4 convoys) instead of assigning an appropriate number to each shipping lane. (I tend to intervene and manually assign a correct number)
How can I stop this? (Cancelling the auto-maintaining complicates things to much.) EDIT: the reason this is becoming very important is because I need to have exact figures of units since the Americans are finally getting into the convoy raiding and I don't want them to go spoil things too much. (What? -3 victory points?! I bloody nuked Washington, Atlanta, Detroit, Chicago, New York, Boston and Miami, destroyed the entire US navy, destroyed all of their air defence and still they won't budge.)

Yeah, it's a bit weird like that. If they're overconvoying a resource route it could be that you have resources stockpiled at the origin point and are bringing in a greater than normal amount. Not sure about the supply convoys, but it seems to work and keeps my troops overseas supplied.

Regarding the huge supply convoys I find it always auto fixes itself after a few days once it builds a stockpile in the distant destination.
Regarding enemy raiding , its very useful to set it as a pop-up prompt when you lose a convoy ship , this allows you to click "go-to" in order to find the exact sea-zone in question to hunt the enemy subs. (I used to spend ages trying to find these places by manually examining the convoy-route info particularly for japan...... |

This is a very basic question, but the manual does not resolve it:
Do I get convoy shipping in addition to whatever TPs I build, or do I have to allocate to TPs to a convoy pool? Second Q: If I mount an amphibious invasion, can I trust the auto convoy system to bring supplies to the beachhead, or had I better do it manually. What if the beachhead is not a port? Thanks. |
