Harbour in Dunkerque (France)

In the screen of the province of Dunkerque in France there's a 3 lvl port. But it doesnt show on the map. When I try to rebase to Dunkerque it doesnt work. Can anybody tell me what to do to resolve this?

Are you playing vanilla HoI2? I have 1.2 and dunkerque hasn't got a port

Go into your .../Hearts of Iron 2/db folder, and open (in NOTEPAD) a file called Province.csv

Looking down to Province 43 (which is Dunkerque), you will see:

43;PROV43;Pas de Calais; France; Europe; Temperate; Clear;;; 100;;1; 0; 2395;0;1;0;0;0;0; 14920;2448; 14943;2423; 14896;2410; 14901;2415;11; 14963;2453;14904;2433;;;;;;;;;;;;; 14924;2432;-1;-1

Note the zero that I've underlined, just in front of the 2395... change that zero to a one.

43;PROV43;Pas de Calais; France; Europe; Temperate; Clear;;; 100;;1; 1; 2395;0;1;0;0;0;0; 14920;2448; 14943;2423; 14896;2410; 14901;2415;11; 14963;2453; 14904;2433;;;;;;;;;;;;; 14924;2432;-1;-1

Now save and exit.

One last word... it took me over half an hour to get this bloody change working... and do you know WHY?

BECAUSE I'M STUPID!

I was making the changes to my HOI-2 v1.3b install... but trying to test them by running Doomsday... and I couldn't figure out why the changes weren't working!

D'oh!

Blue Emu gave you the long answer. The short one is this: build and deploy a port to Dunkerque. It will upgrade to level 4 and fix the missing port at the same time.

Depends on which you feel is more trouble to do...

1) change one byte in one data-file.

or:

2) spend 5 ICs per day for 180 days to build a naval base that you don't need.

Choose whichever one seems easier...

There is an even easier third option:

3) Do nothing. Blow off Dunkerque altogether since you don't need a port there anyway.

That is, in fact, the way that I've been dealing with the bug... I just ignore it.

... but Bartieboy wanted to know how to fix it.

That is excactly what i have done. But that where because i never ever have considered that Dunkerque should have a harbour at all.

Maybe the bug is that the lvl 3 harbour hasnt been completely eradicated from the game.
