Automatic Convoy Escort Management

I have a question on the game automatically managing your convoy escorts.

The escorts are never along with the convoys at peacetime. Convoy status window always displays a zero for the number of escorts along with the convoys.

So what happens if war breaks out? Do my convoys automatically become escorted? Seems you would want your escorts running at the time war is declared to be safe right? Just wondering what's going on here.

Your convoys intantly get protected.

You see, convoys have this ingame ability to trasport reources and supply at near warp speed, so thus escorts have the same warp speed ablity to appear right next to the convoys when war breaks out.

Question: How do you see the convoy lanes? I cant find my rulebook anywhere.

On the supply mapmode, you will see that certain sea zones will appear slightly more purple than the rest. These indicate sea zones that YOUR convoys are moving through. You can also get an exact list of what sea zones your convoys are moving through by clicking on the specific convoy route in the convoy list. You will never see your enemies convoy routes though, you just have to guess.

Nice to know I don't have to worry when war happens. At least with that detail. I would just have to patrol the areas I can with my naval and air assets, and keep a decent number of escsorts available to the AI to use.
