question on atlantic convoys

I am new to HOI so I may be wrong in my assumption, but it seems to me there is no recreation of the Great Atlantic convoys of WWII in HOI.
Am I correct to assume that convoys in HOI can only supply a country's controlled provinces from a depot. Why can't Canada create a convoy and supply Great Britain?

They can, by giving away resources in trade for nothing, you can also hamper this by having lots'nlots of naval units in the sea around Britain.

atlantic trade

Thanks for the help.
so if I understand correctly, there is no need for Canada to build convoys and escorts in the production folder?

If you land in europe (or anywhere else) with your own beachhead, you will have to supply your troops and any friendly troops who use your beachhead. If you just wait for your allies to create one, or just attack from friendly territory then you wont really need to worry about convoys. It just depends on how you play. If you want more land and IC then you'll need convoys to supply your new lands.

There is a secondary effect to convoy raiding that is not often discussed.

In addition to actually sinking convoy points on routes to and from a nation's colonies, enemy fleets in sea zones will reduce the efficiency of trades to other nations that pass through a sea zone. You won't see any feedback for this effect but it does occur.

atlantic convoy

Thanks for the help,

Question-is it possible to create a depoy in a coastal Canadian province?-My is stuck in Ottawa(obviously not a coastal territory)-hence I can't supply a Canadian beachhead with supplies-is this a correct interpretation?
