World War 1 was the bloodiest conflict the world had ever known. Millions lost thier lives as the Entente battled the Central Powers. Russia surrendered on March 3, 1918, and the Germans turned thier full power west. The United States threatened entry into the war after several incidents, but they got resolved. The Germans launched another assault on Paris, and finally forced the French to surrender. A couple of years later, the United Kingdom made peace with Germany. In 1920, a Syndicalist government overthrew the French government. Five years later, the British government fled to Canada and a Radical Socialist government took power.
Meanwhile, the Russian Empire decended into chaos. Different regions declared independence. The nation fell apart as White forces battled the Bolsheviks. The Bolsheviks seemed to be winning, but German forces intervened. The Germans pushed to Moscow and installed a puppet government. The puppet government didn't last long, and the Russian Republic was born. Alexander Kerensky became president of Russia soon after the Republic was born.
All seemed peaceful in the Russian Republic until all hell broke loose. Alexander Kerensky was making a speech when a gunman rushed the stage and shot him in the heart. The gunman rushed into the crowd and blew himself up, killing 7 people and injuring 23. Moments later, a truck rigged with explosives rammed into the Duma and exploded. The truck also carried chlorine gas, which spread throughout the building. Dozens of deputies were killed and poisoned, leaving the hospitals in Moscow overwhelmed.
The terrorists who committed these acts were of middle-eastern origin, and committed suicide when authorities tried to arrest them. Days later, Anton Denikin dissolved the Duma and declared martial law. Who committed these horrible acts?
