Do brigades like SP art or Armoured Car slow you down in Mountain terrain?
I'm pretty sure they used to, but i keep hearing that this has changed somehow. I'm talking attaching it to infantry as opposed to armour/mech.

I looked through the files and as far as I know there is no movement penalty for any brigades specific to a certain terrain type.
Hopefully someone will cofirm or correct me.

I'd second your motion, AOK - I've never seen a tooltip or anything suggesting that these brigades impede you in rough terrain.

What about the reference to "oil-using units"?

That'll slow you down - out of oil or supplies. But that's not the brigade's fault.

I believe these units will slow you down while retreating for lack of oil. This needs confirmation.

Correct, retreating units are treated as out of supply for the duration of the retreat, and thus you will suffer the increased movement penalty for an out of supply oil using units/brigade. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, since units reorg on retreat, but you're more vunerable to being overrun and bombing.
As to the original point, there are no terrain based movement penalties associated with any brigades, just the basic -1 movement point for no SP brigades. |
