AI and amphib landings

I am playing Finland, the US joined the allies mid 41, so I join the allies also, as the Germans almost never make it to Finnish borders anyways, and I need help against the soviets.

Every other time I have played, either the US stays out of it or I kept the US out of the Euro war, so this was new to me.

Holy crap, Lard Tunderen Jasus! The AI really is useless on Amphib landings.

over and over, one of 2 things would happen
1: Landings of a couple of divisions vs a much greater force which would get slaughtered
2: A proper landing, expanding beachhead which never gets reinforced, or helped with landings in other sectors, untill it gets crushed.

I took over Canada, as I needed someone to take out Norway to protect my Northen flank, and didn't want the bother of taking over a major nation. UNsupplied they fell fast.

SO I land 24 Divisions in France, did anyone help? Aside from 6 UK divisions, nope. I must of killed off about 30 or 40 German Divisions with no help, but Canada was running on replacement manpower and it was getting hard to keep the units at even half strength.

Here is the kicker, the US back early in the war had 144 Transports, now 160.
60 Marine Divisions, 75 mech. They could at any time land at one shot 12 12 stack field armies, they could of reached Berlin by 42 no problem. But no, heaven forbid.

Also dispite no war with Japan till rather late, no landings vs that 1 division in Vladistock

On the other hand there must of been 30 or 40 divisions in the Belgium Congo [aka Zaire] even though Africa was clear. Plus another 30 or so Air units in vital places like Nigeria.

I am a bit pissed, in that I am not a big fan of stupidity, plus I was counting on them to do the grunt work vs the soviets and Germans. I really don't want to take over any more countries, as it is too much effort, and I am looking for a simple game.

Add to that the US somehow losing all its fighters [I assume they were on a beachhead that was over run], now it is 1945 and the axis +Japan have more fighter by a long shot then the UK et al. The soviets put all their planes in a 42 sized stack and lost them all within a month of the invasion.

There ends my tale of woe. On the plus side, I got Leningrad, and two territories to the east as my border, and the whole Kola area. [Murmansk on down] all with forts of 3 or 4, AA of 10 along my old border regions. All inf related land tecks and most of the arty and inf techs. I just wish I wasen't in the fight by myself.
