Lightbulb make paris and rome urban

I don't know if anyone already came up with this idea, so excuse me if I am the second one.

I always wanted paris and rome to be urban, like berlin, hamburg, essen, moscow, leningrad, stalingrad, madrid, london, nanking, sjanghai, suzhou, hong kong and a bunch of other cities.
You can do this by opening de province.csv, go to the province id's of paris and rome and change its terrain into "Urban".
Apparently paradox has foreseen this as nice pictures of the arc de triomphe and the high stateu of trajanus appear as terrain image.

I tried to make large cities like istanbul, tokyo and guanzhou, but no nice picture appears at those city's, only the same picture of some houses with palmtrees.

I hope some people can use this tip.

Only this is very unrealistic, as paris and rome were both "open cities", that is they were not defended in the city, but all the fighting took part in the countryside. Thus there is no reason to give them the defensive bonuses of urban terrain.

You are right, but I think people like it more to have these large capitals to get a Urban status.

I beleive that if you have a picture of paris you can place it in the GFX/interface folder with the relevant prov number it will work no?

Must try it and see.

It doesn't work. If the province is not urban, the pic will not show ingame. Only urban provinces "deserve" an individual pic.

That's why I changed some provinces to urban in my game, not caring about that theory of "open cities" and such.

I would like a more simple aproach, though, and not having to declare a province as "urban" to put a pic on it.

Would be cool to have old images in game of Barcelona, Bilbao, Seville, Tobruk, etc... without declaring "urban" these rather large provinces.

I really wish we could assign non-urban provinces pictures. Maybe just include a small icon or picture in one of the corners to signify the non urban terrain:

Guangzhou.

Sounds good.
I like the guangzhou picture, I'm going to try and place it.
