Hermann Göring.

Adolf Hitler suddently died in late 1935 of unknown cause. Hess was taking his place, but surprisingly he disappeared. Who was there? The opportunist Hermann Göring.



The cabinet is stable. Wilhelm Canaris has quickly collected a track record of not always following the Führer's wish, and there is the question if Göring's rise to power was legitimate, but it is generally accepted.

The current plans for the armed forces are:



The Heer is going to be raised to have around 100 infantry-, 12 semi-motorized cavalry-, 6 armored divisions and 6 special marine units.



The Luftwaffe is planned to grow to have 8 wings of tactical bombers, 4 of interceptors (this is said to be way too small, but they are supposedly going to be supported by anti-air emplacements on the ground) and 8 of naval bombers. There has been suggestions of ground attack planes (such as in the picture above) but Herr Göring has not warmed for these.



The Kriegsmarine has been completely scrapped. This almost led to Raeder's resignation, but that was settled. It is planned to have at least two enormous fleets of 30 destroyer flotillas each, but there are no set dates for completion.

A force this large has to have a purpose, what is it?

Research is in full speed. The ground doctrine relies on infantry so agriculture must be improved to raise population growth.



Göring marched his troops into Rhineland on January 7, pretty much declaring the Versailles pact null and void.

On February 12, a very serious political conflict occured between Denmark and Germany. Denmark shot down a Luftwaffe interceptor that had lost course while training at sea and flew into their airspace. Göring was furious and on the very same day German panzers were rolling into Denmark.





Offensive operations started at 17:00. 6 infantry divisions stroke straight to Copenhagen supported by numerous tactical bomber wings. 3 panzer divisions were assigned to capture the rest of vital Denmark.

The Copenhagen resistance was first crushed around 11:00 February 13 and infantry was free to march there. Panzers had yet to meet any real resistance. But the dans had something up their sleeve..



The United Kingdom and its allies declared war against Germany on February 14. This was not a huge immediate problem though, because the French border was heavily defended.



The Soviet Union surprisingly broke the non-aggression pact between them and the Reich on February 16. In Germany it was wondered which diplomatic action they were going to do next..



Denmark was annexed into the Reich on February 17. Who would have guessed the consequences this 'little' conflict was going to have when it ignited.

On February 18 Göring was very stressed by his vast amount of work and made Martin Bormann the second man of Germany. After this Wilhelm Canaris called Göring an 'ugly fat sloth' which ended up in Göring's ears and surprise, surprise he was not in the office for long after that, although Göring's looks improved after the event

Current cabinet:



It was noted that the vast amount of unguarded beaches in Denmark were a serious weak point and buildup of garrison forces was started.



Later that very same day South Africa left the allies and immediately the hostilities between her and Germany were to be ceased.



On April 6 it was realized that the allied air raids made serious damage to Germany and solutions were being looked for. The popular suggestion was to build more interceptors. 4 more interceptor wings were added to the construction plan.



On April 9 Italy finally managed to annex Ethiopia. 'It seems that they are getting more land so they can give it to us in the peace negociation table' Göring laughed during a private chat.



On April 17 the UK invaded Reykjavik. There are no Axis troops garrisoned in Iceland so the British are on a pretty much free roam there. 'They will be taken care of', Göring said.



April 21, Germany declared war on Sweden! Attacking forces consist of 6 infantry divisions, 3 panzer divisions and 6 cavalry divisions.



Advance was groundbreakingly fast, and on May 4 Sweden was annexed into the Reich.
