Peaceful Gameplay

Out of curiosity, I played an entire game the other day on Coward and Very Easy mode, just to see if I could convince a vassal to agree to a peaceful annexation. This was using the IGC. In 300 years, having spent literally tens of thousands of Ducats relationship building, I was unable to convince any of my 3 vassals to annex. This leaves me wondering whether there should be a setting somewhere to improve the probablity of a peaceful annexation.

No problems?

It shouldnt be any problem I had did it many times
Some time you must wait between annexing so that you
can start a new alliance.
Look so that you have 190 and same religon and the rest.

Diplomacy rating and BB?

I am fairly sure the higher your Diplomacy Rating, the better the chances of annexation.

And maybe BB rating has an impact as well??

Well what countries were you trying to annex?
That has quite a big impact.

Actually, sometimes you have to rush and make a proposal right after you gave them the money. Honestly, the whole thing with peaceful annexation is quite ahistorical and annoying.

This thread likely belongs somewhere else...

Just FYI, you also need numerical superiority in your armed forces... something like 3:1 to annex... or more, I forget, I forget again.
Their being destabilized by wars and such also helps greatly...

I was the grey eminence behind the "Super Hansa", trying to annex Hannover, Saxony, and Kleves. In the end, I had a somewhat vast empire spanning the globe, controlling 3 CoTs.

I put the mesasge in this forum because it seemed to me that the diplo annex feature needs some attention.

There's a sticky in the FAQ which will answer your questions about diplo annexing etc.
