Where is saladin?

OK, maybe i missed something but shouldn't he be the leader of the muslems in the 1187 scenario?

Or do i not know my history well enough? (probably the answer )

He was sultan of Ayyubid Egypt at that time so he should be in.

When my king Asbjörn of Munsö, king of Navarra (and count of Södermanland among other places (long story, many inheritances )) decided to go wild and crusade against the fatimids in 1186, he encountered the fabled Salah-ad-Din.
Was there an epic battle against him? Did Saladin save the Fatimids? No, he just stod at the side in a neutral sheikdom watching the fatimid armies melt away. In the end heaps of swedish navarese were granted fiefs in the former fatamid realm and Saladin is currently having a nice rest in Amman (1194).

Talking

Saladin really did get whipped by Richard the Lionheart. Saladin is pretty lucky that Malec Ric lost his nerve just outside of Jerusalem...

I got an arab muslim courtier called Sahaladin (not Saladin) and he was a brilliant strategist of 15,

just coincidence - or a little gag from the game devs?

I couldn't find him in the 1187 scenario either. But then, that scenario is so badly messed up, it's unbelievable.

Saladin isn't an name, its a title that was bestowed upon him once he's already gotten rolling. Means "sword of the faith" IIRC.
