Patch 1.04 is here - thanks Johan! J The following list contains bugs not yet fixed in 1.04 and some most wanted changes:
1) Minor countries AI bugs: - Some minors tend to settle for most unfortunate peace conditions, even when having achieved major victories. - In more fractioned regions (Germany) the situation often arises, that after a peace treaty is settled, huge troops are cut off from home and die from attrition. - In war, minors tend to besiege provinces far away instead of ones close to their border. - AI tends to maintain huge armies on islands neglecting the continent. (Main example=Venice). http://www.europa-universalis.com/fo...ML/000128.html 2) There are still far too many errors in the German translation of messages: - Still, all sea battles are referred to as 'Feldschlacht' in the protocol - On the other hand You often recieve messages from the 'Admirality' where it absolutely makes no sense... - Most annoying is 'The population of x is rebelling against rebels' ('Die Bevölkerung von x rebelliert gegen Rebellen') - There is still garbled text in some of the info windows (e.g. for the art academy) http://www.europa-universalis.com/forums/Forum7/HTML/000082.html 3) Automated trader dispatch sends to unexplored province-related COTS, but it is not possible to do this manually http://www.europa-universalis.com/fo...ML/000096.html 4) City growth rate is not working properly http://www.europa-universalis.com/fo...ML/000071.html 5) When agreeing to pay a certain amount of indemnities, the AI nevertheless pays only so much as it has in itīs treasury. Instead it should either refuse and a message 'We donīt have that much money' should be displayed for the playerīs information or (even better) a message 'We could pay You x ducats, Do You agree?' should be displayed with the option to agree or refuse. I now consider this a bug and not just a case of 'most wanted change', because so many players are annoyed by it. After all, the human player has to take a loan, if he has not enough money... 6) Although a known bug, I add the 'graph/dates-bug', simply because it is still there. http://www.europa-universalis.com/fo...ML/000112.html 7) Several other infos get lost/changed when loading a savegame: besieged fortresses are back to strength, trade forbidden event effects are gone, alliances are automatically updated. http://www.europa-universalis.com/fo...ML/000119.html 8) When doubleclicked, sliderbuttons tend to move a bit before turning grey http://www.europa-universalis.com/fo...ML/000141.html 9) Sometimes only one of the Colony/Tradepost options is available, when both should be. http://www.europa-universalis.com/fo...ML/000123.html 10) Sometimes, all things being equal, in the battle window the enemy moral 'freezes', causing large armies to loose against even very small ones. This seems to be less the case, when speed is set to 5minutes per month. http://www.europa-universalis.com/fo...ML/000150.html 11) There are still random crashes. http://www.europa-universalis.com/fo...ML/000152.html 12) Multiplayer stability is lacking. http://www.europa-universalis.com/fo...ML/000143.html No bugs, but most wanted changes: 1) Ship attrition supervisor http://www.europa-universalis.com/fo...ML/000742.html 2) Stats of the leaders should be displayed when moving the cursor over an army, at least when 'fog of war' is off. http://www.europa-universalis.com/fo...ML/000084.html 3) Toggle automatic trader dispatch on/off for each cot seperately http://www.europa-universalis.com/fo...ML/000071.html 4) Peace offer flag in upper right screen should be bigger http://www.europa-universalis.com/fo...ML/000071.html 5) 'History' in the ledger should be implemented http://www.europa-universalis.com/fo...ML/000094.html 6) Knowledge of map should at least extend from provinces with bigger cities to bordering provinces after a certain timespan, so that minors who have no access to explorers/conquistadors (and not enough knowledge of surroundings to sucessfully trade maps) are not forever 'confined'. http://www.europa-universalis.com/fo...ML/000107.html Hartmann [This message has been edited by Hartmann (edited 07-12-2000).] |

And on a more wishlist note, maybe a screen to upgrade officials, make fortresses, and dispatch colonists/traders, while being shown all your provinces instead of having to click on one at a time or repeatedly popping up that annoying colonize map?

Another, very minor bug: The VPs in the monarch list in the ledger stop showing up correctly after the first two or three monarchs.

an addon for the wishlist:
how about an additional random event: national independence movements of conquered countries (like the dutch movement). nationalism is perhaps the wrong word, but imagine a group of nobles, who want to reconstitute their state. could be linked to the administrative value of the occupiers monarch and the duration of this event should be strictly limited... imo the empire building is a little to easy. this event could add some dynanism to the political landscape of europe... |

Possible bug:
The 'Conversion of Heretics' event does not seem to affect pagan provinces. I've tried it explicitly using the cheat... Also, I wish to stress the city growth problem - it is extremely annoying, whether it is a bug or a feature. /Doomie |

Doomie: Playing Sibir, I got the 'Conversion event' at least once, and one of my pagan provinces converted to Sunni. Itīs the cheats, that are buggy!!!!
Apart from the 'population growth bug'. I find the strange behavior of the minors most annyoing. If Algier beats Marocco to hell (destroying their whole army, conquering their Capital) and then agrees to a white peace this is no fun... Hartmann |

@Hartmann
about your No.4 in your 'most wanted features' list : If you have problem to notice the small peace offering flag, why donīt you (and many others who claimed a fix of this) go to the 'Einstellungen' Window and set it to 'show a window when a peace offer arrives' ??? You will never again fail to notice a peace offer !!! I think there are other, more helpful 'wanted features' then this. Plz eliminate it from your wishlist before the programmers spend much time with resizing this flag... bugfixing is more needed ! Greetings Gan. |

Hi Gandriel,
I know You can adjust the messages the way Youīve described it. Still itīs one of the changes, repeatedly asked for by players. Many people seem to LIKE the 'banner' in principle and just want it to be a little bigger. I even donīt think, that resizing the banner will really drain time from fixing the real bugs (which is, of course, more important, Youīre right about that). Cheers, Hartmann |

Johan: Apparently itīs not (or not enough). I just saw Venice crushed on the mainland with virtually no armies, while a total of 100k+ relaxed on Crete, Corfu and Cyprus...

Actually, I have to say the thing I want fixed the most is population. Please make it actually go up in the true historic fashion.

KRonn: I donīt know, though I didnīt see any ships in the region. But even if they had ZERO ships: They should have build at least equal army sizes on the mainland in the first place.
Hartmann P.S. I have updated the Bug list (fixed ship graphics bug Nr.5 was replaced by the 'indemnities feature/bug') |

Yes, population growth should be fixed, I can't stress that enough. It takes much away from the historical atmosphere if the city populations in the game are completely different than they were in history. Better not to have population modeled at all than to have it blatantly false.
![]() Btw Hartmann, it is possible to get rid of those excess edited post notifications, just delete them next time you edit that post.

I expanded Nr. 2. The translation bugs are in desperate need to be fixed, because they will definitely influence reviews in a negative way and so, indirectly, the sales. (Just imagine garbled text, nonsense and Pidgin English in the English version, and You will see, how serious this matter is...)
