Genghis Khan II?

For fun i made a might golden hore scenario.
I took the igc, burgund the mighty, then i changed a little in the file.
I made kazan, krim and astarkhan vassals of the golden horde. I also made all their provinces national provinces of the goldenhorde.
Around 1495 the golden horde military annexed krim who had dishounored an alliance, one year later the war wich krim want in ended. russia had to give away a lot of money, ryzan lost a province to persia and much money to the others.
around 1502 kazan and astarkhan was annexed by the horde. and the turks entered the alliance.

now the golden horde is the superpower of the world.

screenshoot

This is fun to, im thinking about editing the save file and give them a few new core provinces... like teh capital of a few nerbay countries and then see how huge they will grow=)

KOEI made a game called Genghis Khan II just for you ! You can play it on Super Nintendo or Sega Genesis. Don't know if it ever came out on PC.

It did come out on the PC....I have it stored somewhere. I remember many hours happily conquering the known world. There is a web site that has games where the copyright has expired and they are free for download. It could be on there, but I don't remember the URL.

Hey man, about these 'expired copyright' games. I found a sight for them and downloaded a game called Romance of the 3 Kingdoms III. After downloading to my hard disk I could not figure out how to start playing the actual game.

Does anyone know what I am missing? What do I need to get going with these kind of games? Is there a special software out there somewhere?

If you have your WIN98 install disc there should be an olddos file on there which will install an old version of DOS. But it has been so long ago that I can't remember anything about setting up your config.sys file for using DOS. There are surely others with more knowledge about it who will reply to this thread.

as for dos: with problems, just contact me. May take a while till my answer though... just celebrating my 18th birthday.

as for abandonware: abandonware isn't expired copyright nor is it legal. it's still fun though. for further info see www.mobygames.com and www.theunderdogs.com

have been into abandonware and oldware scene for some years... web sites suck

chengis khan II. what a game that was...

You must have chengis khan. you have to have it for your own good .
IMHO it is easily the best turn based wargame ever. Though smaller in scale it is actually more fun than EU. Less complex game dynamics (merchants and diplomacy) but far greater war control like charging or making a speech to fix ruined morale.. there are 15+ units and all are not available everywhere (you can only recruit samurai from japan or longbowmen from west europe and so..) .. I cannot recommend this game enough find it at mentioned sites and get it NOW
